Last year obviously not, but there are reasons to think he'll rebound from a bad year.

And you're seriously discounting how difficult it is to score above 20ppg on great efficiency which is not something Dejounte has ever done so far in his career & Booker has done that for the past 5 seasons. Dejounte is a good player no doubt but offensively he is by far a more inferior player & his better defensive numbers don't make up for his inferior offense.

He is an elite scorer. But he is not an elite player.
His shooting is great and if he is on his jumpshot looks amazing. The problem is that he lacks in other areas. I d put him in the top20. One of his main problems is that he is too small.

Same. As a Suns fan I appreciate Bookers talent and abilities. However he is not a top 10 player. I think he's close and I'm not sure I agree with some of the players that are being put above him, but he's not top 10 yet

Obviously CP3 is the best player on the Suns, the biggest reason why they're good next to Monty Williams coaching, CP3 therefore is ranked above Devin Booker.

Then of course there were the guys that were injured. Damian Lillard, Brad Beal, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Kyrie - not injured but he is a better player than Devin Booker

Devin Booker was 8th in scoring, 24th in PER, 33rd in WS/48, 17 in VORP, 39 in OWS - this is telling, his job is literally to be an offense first player, 21 in DWS - more because of his team really, 20th in BPM, 18 in VORP

by all statistical categories Devin Booker was only barely top 10 in scoring. and he was 78th in TS which means he isn't even the most efficient scorer, and that 78th is below tons of other high volume scorers like DBo, Trae, KD, Butler, Kyrie, Harden, Middleton, Curry, LaVine, etc.

There is nothing to quantify Booker being a top 10 player in the league, the only reason he made the 1st team was because PHX had the #1 seed. He has no business being put ahead of Steph Curry on an All NBA team. Ja also belongs above Booker, Booker should've either been a 3rd team guy or been knocked off the list. CP3 belonged on the 2nd team above Book.

By better than Booker how do you define that? All the players you listed above had worse records in both the regular and postseason than Booker's Suns.

I do think he's just outside the top 10 but definitely in the top 15.

Dejounte Murray averaged 21-9-8 and led the league with 2 steals a game you have to ask why he's better than DBook

Stats obviously dont tell the whole story. I not much of a Book fan, but in a hypothetical world, if you swapped Book for Dejounte last season would the Spurs have been better/worse/same and how about the Suns? I feel like the Spurs remain the same and the Suns get marginally worse

Why?

The MVP voting is a misnomer that factors into his team being top seed.

Another way to look at top 10 (which isnt a perfect metric) is if you were starting a franchise tomorrow, who would you start with? Are there 10 players you would pick ahead of Book? Obviously health and age are a factor here, which can mislead the final result. But I think you could pick 10 players ahead of him (most of the names have already been discussed).

I thought he took a leap last season, but he needs to make another one to truly be in the upper echelon…but it’s super stacked right now, may also be that way if and when he does make another leap.
