When he returns everything will go to hell.
I know it, you know it, he knows it, they know it.

This is kind of what I'm thinking, too.

Going to be interesting to follow.

From what I've read, Vaughn has used Durant much more as the focus. And it's working.

Getting Curry back (think he was injured for a bit) is big. He torched the Clippers today.

I like Nash, but whether he doesn't coach well and/or the team wasn't listening to him, Vaughn seems to have figured some things out fast.

The next step for Vaughn is working in Kyrie when he inevitably returns.

As I think Bisme said in the game thread, Brooklyn is playing some serious defense right now. That's always seemed a weak spot for them in the Big Three era.

There is no guarantee that Kyrie will respect or work with Vaughn. He clashed withBrad Stevens before Nash plus he believes he dosent need a coach. The guy is a toxic nutcase

Let's clear out the elephant in the room. Vaughn is black and he will likely listen to Vaughn. Just keeping it a buck

It's almost like Irving is a laughably bad defender, something that should be common knowledge at this point but for some reason isn't.

Strong playoff team? Fringe contender?

Just better than the total disaster they looked like at the start of the season.

Yes, but not sure if that will be the case when Kyrie returns. I wanted Vaughn to get the job before he was ever mentioned for the job. He got this group playing extremely well and unselfish

Best defensive team in the NBA is a weird way to say that they're fiftenth best.

But 5 straight games of less than 100ppg conceded is best, surely.

It seems now they have a new identity which you could never imagine from this Nets team. They are now playing great defense and offensively it's no surprise that they work around KD through everything but with a much slower pace which you don't see often under Nash.

If they could keep this defense they could surprise lots of people.

Yeah, it's true, and by a pretty sizable number:

Their biggest problem was always 2 key players saying "we don't want a coach" and proceeding to play 2 on 5 streetball.
If they somehow overcome this and start playing normal NBA basketball consistently, then sure, they can be a lot better.
