A decent Center in the middle of his prime but has FT shooting issues so you can't play him late... doesn't seem to fit the mold of what they should be looking for.

Isn't this just another player the Raptors will lose for nothing in free agency?

He would be the best center on the Celtics who are contenders, so he is better then a decent center. He is a very good defender, rebounder and passer and a long awaiting replacement for Gasol. They risk losing him in the summer though for sure.

og is under contract for one more year. so immediate contracts that need to be addressed are fred, gary and jakob.

the timing tells me the raptors were in on kd but nets chose suns so we quickly did the fallback.

Plus, they acquire his Bird Rights.
They probably move either GTJ or FVV tomorrow, and then are in a perfect spot to keep, for example, FVV, OG, Barnes, Siakam and Poetl as a core, which is darn good, with the assets to turn one of those salary slots into something more or maybe hit the lotto on a draft pick, which they're good at.

He has been average this season but still one of the best Spurs players.

Hopefully with all the draft capital we can trade for someone good next season, accompanied by getting a good pick

A Blazers poster says that he has inside information, that the Blazers are prepared to trade Shaedon Sharpe and three FRPs for OG. The Blazers just picked up the Knicks 2023 FRP in the Josh Hart - Cam Reddish trade.

If that is anywhere true, the Raptors would have more than enough FRPs to cover the Poetl trade.

Gotta be honest I feel for you and the Spurs fan base as I got to see Jak play in a few g-league games during his 1st stint here in Toronto when he was playing for Raptors 905(Raptors tickets are insanely expensive and the 905's arena in Mississauga is literally located in the middle of nowhere!). It was good to see him thrive and was saddened to see him sent to SA but the price was worth it.

I do think the Spurs held on too long though trying to get that 2nd 1st but in the end they got a pro. 1st+2 2nds so that's not too shabby. I wonder if there's anybody else besides Birch being moved in this deal.

Well the next guy likely to be shipped out is Josh Richardson as he doesn't fit the timeline(will be 30 when his next contract starts)+he could net a couple of 2nds from a contender.

Best of luck for the Wemby/Scoot sweepstakes GREY as my Raptors are in a sea of confusion although if the OG to Portland rumour is true things will get crazy up here.

This trade ain’t get nearly as much attention as some of the others but damn it this is a good trade for Toronto. They finally get that big that they desperately needed.
