Re: D'Angelo Russell was openly complaining about Gobert
Why does everyone hate Gobert?
Is he an easy target, or is he an ass teammate? I thought I read about him doing things here and there for team employees so he doesn't on the surface appear to be an ass person...

It's not loser mentality. Kobe did the same thing to Smush Parker lol. Kobe went to the radio station and basically said his teammates suck. Said they sucked on camera to random ass people.
The Timberwolves brass traded away their locker room leader and the guy that gave them their swagger for a guy that nobody freaking wants to play with.
No, I am being loud about that. You traded a guy that we liked for a guy nobody wants to play with. For a guy that doesn't make us better. For a guy that screws up any sort of offense because he has no game. He's not a vertical spacer. He's not a good pick and roll target because he can't catch. He can't pass. He's a big freaking zero.
We have the best big man shooter to ever play, giving us all this space, and you replace him with this freaking guy.
Yeah, I'ma say what everyone thinks and feels. And I am going to let him know he sucks and why we don't pass him the ball.

He seems like a guy who has this combination of three elements which we have seen many times before. Quirky, competitive, and sensitive.
Kyrie, Draymond, and Marcus Smart, Rajon Rondo, Jimmy Butler, Russell Westbrook come to mind as players with all of those elements.
Empathy doesn’t mean softening the truth — it means holding truth with humanity.

Yeah, a 3 time DPOY being told he sucks by an overrated one dimensional clown like Russell is the height of hilarity.

Arguably he's going to slot in with LA because AD and Bron are basicly legends so he needs to find his role slotted in after those two.

Let's playin for 9th!

Well and one of these guys actually drives where Gobert likely is a problem for him...and the other is dlo...

His role will be..."guy other teams target relentlessly until they've scored 70 on him"?

Good thing they got a guy who actually knows how to play with Gobert, in Conley. Very underrated deadline move. They improve on both ends and Conley is an adult, a professional. He'll be the steadying force they needed.

Taking up driving angles. Calling for the ball like he's Shaq. Pouting when he doesn't get the ball when every knows he can't freaking catch.
On top of that, the Wolves didn't need Gobert.
I would be mad, they loved Pat Bev and now they got freaking Rudy Gobert lol.
Most NBA players can't stand an offensively inept guy.
Yeah, I am going to be loud and about a guy like Gobert wrecking my freaking offense.
plus, there is a good chance of you redid the trade now Walker Kessler by himself is worth more the Gobert

Also one is more of a leader than the other.
Having issues is fine. Openly complaining about him is another.
Ant also has adapted and been willing to learn how to play with Rudy, how to cater to Rudy's strengths as a screener and roller.

I don’t think Jimmy fits on that bill for being sensitive? He just has a standard he plays to that he expects others to play at also otherwise he’s calling it out.

Given Jimmy Butler's disgustingly unprofessional behaviour behind-the-scenes and him purposefully throwing games when Minnesota did not trade him, I have to keep it a buck-fifty, your read is honestly off.
I am someone that has absolutely no problem with players wanting out of Minnesota. I was a defender of Kevin Love when he signaled his intention to move on from the team, and fully respected Ricky Rubio wanting to go another direction. I also really enjoyed watching Jimmy Butler on Minnesota. That said, Jimmy Butler's attitude when asking out was actually unbelievable.

Definitely a benefit of being in a small market and having more personal beat writers. They could have written an unnecessary (albeit juicy) gossip piece, but opted not to do so.
