Pierce was torching him pretty bad early on in RJ's career but "easy 40?" pierce? lmao just from glancing it looks like he scored 40+ on him once! How can say something so confidently, and call him sweet? RJ torched him quite a few times too. I dont even like RJ but jesus

Well, when your running mate is Antoine Walker….

I don’t recall Wade winning anything without Shaq or LeBron

He clearly states multiple time that Pierce was better than him. He just wanted to prove that playing vs him wasn't "easy", given how he lost every time

I’m talking about him saying Wade was levels above Pierce, which is not true at all. Give Pierce a prime LeBron and still potent Shaq, and he’s probably winning more titles, too.

Yeah Paul Pierce has to be up there (edit: but to be fair Paul Pierce is a great HOF player. I have him ranked above my fav player, VC, career wise).

For not recent retiree but still in peoples minds because of his TV exposure it's Kenny Smith.
Another one is Stephen Jackson.

Pierce shouldn't even call out RJ because post NBA career, RJ is superior to Pierce. He is quick witted, funny, well-spoken and humble (can make fun of himself), everything that Pierce isn't.

Pierce is a huge loser.

The, "Anyway I got to go to work" cracked me up (bear in mind these are both guys who don't "have" to work).

At this point though PP is just an old drunk and RJ is out there doing his thing.

Except it is. Pierce still had an opportunity to win a scoring title. Never did. An opportunity to make all defensive teams. Never did. All NBA first teams. Never did. And made half the all NBA teams despite playing 3 more seasons than Wade. That's before the championship debate.

Cuckoo for CoCoa Puffs if Pierce thinks he could've beaten that '06 Mavs team with him instead of Wade.

Hell they likely don't get past the Pistons in '06.

Wait a second. Now I get it.

Paul Pierce is realizing he is fading into obscurity as a former player and not beloved outside of BOS.

It must burn his soul that the Celtics '08 championship is always attached to KG's "Anything is possible" scream even though he'd spent so many yrs in Celtic green.

Gotta do what you gotta do for attention I guess.

You're on your own for this one. Everyone else knows Wade is on another level from Pierce

Pierce could’ve won titles with Shaq, several guys could have, but that doesn’t make him better than DWade.

na, Wade won that title by himself. noone remembers Shaq was on that team.

The defensive strategy might have been to have Pierce take a lot of shots in losses

C'mon dude. He that was his final 1st team All-NBA selection.

A big factor in Wade having all that open space to attack and get to the free throw line was Dallas selling out their defense to send doubles/triples to Shaq. Including a monster 28pts 16reb 5blks on 12/14 FG in the close out game 6.
