Do you want your team to go after him? If so, what is your reasonable offer? Remember, he’s a top 30-40 player just entering his prime. This kind of player at that age almost never becomes available but since the Celtics have shopped him and he’s made disparaging remarks about the city and its fans this is looking like a possibility.
Lol, so let me get this straight, you're mad at Jaylen Brown for saying Boston fans are raycis, and your response is to try to sell him and see how much you can get for him? LoL
Brown has been in Boston for 6 years I guess. If he feels uncomfortable due to racial issues, I doubt they'll be able to change that. Pierce, KG, Russell seemed to not be bothered enough to voice that publicly, but everyone's experience and perception is different. The Celtics can either 1. Shop him now. 2. Try really hard to sign him and then probably live with him demanding a trade whereby they look to get 4 first rounds picks or whatever in return. 3. They lose him for nothing in free agency.
#1 is probably still the option that gives them the most control.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.
