Re: Dame committed to the Blazers
He likes the city/franchise, the mega max, and clearly doesn’t prioritize chasing competing for a title at the expense of those things. Get it, Dame

Re: Dame committed to the Blazers
BREAKING: Dame commited to the Blazers... But he's still going to complain if they sign younger guys, don't mortgage their future, and voice his frustrations. But he won't demand a trade and he's commited, but he likes Miami too
Dame must be punching air right now, and wishing he never called out other stars for demanding trades right now

Re: Dame committed to the Blazers
At this point, it doesn't even matter if Dame genuinely wants to stay, which I believe he does. What's best for both parties is to move on. They are wasting everyone's time -- Dame and the organization -- by continuing this pointless loop of mediocrity.
The Blazers will not be a contender in the coming years barring an insane, anomaly level decision by an all-nba caliber player. What would benefit the franchise most is to trade Dame for promising young players and draft capital. Keeping him benefits no one's future. NO ONE'S.

lost out on Beal and Dame, do they switch focus on go for Lavine? Try to pair Lowry+pick+a young player for Lavine? Gives MIA scoring, gives Chicago a chance at rebuilding while also pairing/shedding Lowry/DDR once again and they would both expire
I get the impression you are holding out hope for this. Or the Lakers, maybe. But I hope this doesn't become a Dame freezing the market situation.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?
Please advise….

Smart move by the Hawks. Could have cost a first after free agency.

I’ll never blame players for wanting to stay somewhere, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to stay in a city that you and your family like. The Blazers are the ones who should probably make the tough decision and just trade him.

GM is scared to death of the fans reaction if they trade Dame

Green would be a good fit with Dame. Similar fit to Curry. Get them together then trade it all for Klay + Wiggins

None of this is fair to those younger players on the team. The opportunities will be restricted by the team trying to please Dame. Henderson and his agent should be about ready to ask if the team would consider trading him. Maybe Utah goes all out for Henderson.

Oh man... what a disaster of a situation for everyone involved lol. A backcourt of Lillard/Simons/Scoot... what a disaster that's gonna be defensively lol.

Re: Dame committed to the Blazers
As a major Lillard fan, I'm upset this incompetent front Office can't put any good pieces around Dame to compete. No trades or anything on the horizon.
Drafting Scoot basically guarantees that Portland is not serious about contending this year. Two PG line ups never work, and never will

Re: Dame committed to the Blazers
"Remain committed to building a winner around Dame" is lawyery language. That could mean attracting FAs to come to Blazers, or it could mean sending Dame to a situation where has a chance to succeed.
It's obvious that the best move for the Blazers would be to trade Dame and get a big haul in return. You rid yourself of the contract and start building a team with decent pieces.

Re: Dame committed to the Blazers
The one headline in the WT says "resolution not expected until free agency", but now, four days before free agency, they're singing this "we're committed" song?
Maybe they just don't want to look desperate and like they'll trade him for anything. Maybe this is the FO's coded way of saying, "if you want him, pay up".
