19/7,5 with +2,5 BPG on okay efficiency in under 30 MPG. Probably +2,5 turnovers per game.

This stats line would be his stats only for his worst week of the season!

I think he does a bit better as shown above, but go back and look at Anthony Davis' rookie year stats. Maybe that will bring expectations back down to reality.

Wemby is a first year big man. This isn't like Kareem or Duncan coming into the NBA fully developed and ready to win.

I still think he will have the best rookie season since 2000 if he is healthy...Btw,I don't count rookie like Blake Griffin as a true rookie back in 2011 season since he was in the second season in the NBA since he hadn't played in his first season

It’s just so weird. If I were a Spurs fan, I would be the most obnoxious person in the world right now. Being all giddy about having a potential GOAT talent, especially after watching David Robinson and Tim Duncan.

Seems a bit low… but I do think closer to this than to some of the other stat lines I’m seeing. Wemby is going to be the focus of most teams’ defensive (and likely offensive) game plans. He’s going to be developed at the pace Pop wants. He’s going to have some learning pains as a rookie. They all do.

I’m predicting 17-18 points, 7-8 rebounds, and shooting splits around 50/30/80. Blocks probably right around 1.5-2.0 … I don’t think people realize how rare it is to achieve 3+ block seasons (not that Wemby can’t; just seems highly unlikely his rookie year).

Look for an on par or slightly better JJJ. All of his preseason stat lines resemble those of JJJ to a tee seems like. Everything but points, he'll get more points IMO.

Those who have him at 10 rebounds or more don't know what they were watching. This guy is a bad rebounder right now.

22 pts 7 reb 2 ast 1 ste and probably 3 blks. Shooting efficiency will be up and down.

All Star from year one.

So you and a few others have him averaging all nba 2nd team numbers.

No chance in hell.

If he plays 60+ games and 30 minutes per game you’d call that miracle territory on its own.

Some of you guys
1. Need to remember he is 19.
2. Open your eyes and see he is not currently fit enough to play his style more than 10 minutes straight, let alone last a full game, a full season.
3. Stop thinking preseason highlights mean anything. You really think guys are going to be as stupid as Wiggins with his shot attempts and to try anything within range of a guy with an 8 foot wingspan?
4. I took into consideration fitness, foul trouble, minor injuries the Spurs won’t think twice about risking.

You guys have him winning 3 rings and 3 mvps in his first 5 years.

Come back to me when the season ends and see how your ridiculous expectations fared.

I can see everyone’s excuses now:

‘Oh I didn’t take foul trouble, fitness and injuries into the equation’

I'm assuming he'll play 30 minutes a night during the RS

Maybe I'm selling him short but I'll say -- 18.5 PPG / 7.0 REB / 3.0 BLK

18/7/3 on 44/30/80 to go along with 3.5 blocks and 3.5 TO's. In 28mpg.

Scoring won't be an issue, he'll get a lot of touches. But he is fairly raw, so he won't be that efficient.
He, despite his height, won't get that many rebounds because of his frame.
He won't play a lot because the Spurs won't risk injury.
TO's will be an issue because he can easily be picked by NBA level defenders.

He'll win ROY and be an All-Star by default. Probably an all-defense team too due to hype.

This seems realistic. Hope he improves his rebounding in the future.

I thought he would be around 18ppg but it seems obvious he can put up 20 without a ton of effort

obviously the answer depends on how many mpg he can play and how many pop is willing to let him play.

if over 25 mpg
20, 8, 2.8 with 2.7 bpg and .8 spg on 46, 33, 79

Then we can also take in account that Spurs are barely 2 preseason games with this "all giant Sochan pg" lineup experiment.
As season progress chemistry and passing will improve, wemby will get comfy with pop seys and systems find his sweet shooting spot and so on..
Imo theres no way he average less than 15pts as he has a deep bag and seemingly the green light to jack up shots

You can't really compare him to a typical rookie. He's physical superior to everyone he'll be playing against. That will significantly flatten his learning curve.
