i'm glad the nba is looking into it. from my perspective, the twitter accusations are flimsy and appear to mostly exist as a platform for jokes and memery. the no comment from giddey and coach daigneault is unsurprising, fair, and probably a PR and/or legal stance adopted by the team. if it does turn out that giddey had an inappropriate relationship with a minor i have no doubt that sam presti and the thunder would act quickly. but i wouldn't expect them or any team to take any action based on the public information available, so far.

In most of Europe, a 20-year-old dude (he only just turned 21 so its safe to say he met her while still 20) dating a 16 or 17-year-old girl would not be news. The same goes for Australia most likely. The age of consent in Oklahoma is 16 as well. A bit weird, yes. Calling him a criminal like some did is a big reach though.

It's more than a bit weird for a 3rd year NBA player to be in a relationship with a 16 year old lol. What are they talking about? Algebra 2? Getting her driver's license?

It's crazy that this either becomes a huge issue or a non issue because of a few months. Im gonna wait for all details to come out before forming any actual option here.

I've seen the rumor being 16 or 17 because she is a junior.
