lots of thunder fans will disagree with me but this thunder fan would love it if kd finished his career in okc. but kd himself probably wouldn't want that. i would settle for a joint retirement ceremony with russell westbrook.

He should play out his contract and his career on the Suns.

Thanks but, no thanks.

It’s also been said, but KD is not welcome in OKC. I’d rather not win a championship than win one with him.

If he winds up on the team somehow I’d probably stop watching them.

 If you didn’t stop watching after learning about Josh Kiddey, you ain’t stopping because Durant returns. Man some of you guys are strange. It’s ok to have a pedo on the team but not KD

Take a step back for a second and consider the fact that you're judging some stranger online without any real evidence or private knowledge of the situation.

If you take that step back and look at your thought process... do you feel it's a good way to go through things on a message board or real life?

The NBA and OKC havent suspended a guy, but here you are labelling some random dude you don't know a "pedo" and somehow acting like OKC fans should behave the same way you apparently do... which is to be a judge and executioner online.

The OKC fan could ask you "Why are you watching the NBA, when the NBA hasn't suspended a pedo?"

Let's just not bring topics down over things we really don't have much clue about.

Suns gave away Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson and a bunch of unprotected FRPs to get KD just a few months ago, they dont listen to any offer from OKC unless Shai, Jalen Williams or Chet is included, and OKC wouldnt do that.

It will happen. And i believe it's the only way for him to become likeable again.

I think once KD retires he will be embraced again specifically by OKC and GS. It'll take a while though in OKC similar to how it'll take a while for the Magic to embrace Dwight again. Not to mention that Durant won't get his jersey retired in OKC before WB, Collison and he certainly won't get it in GS before Curry, Klay, Draymond and might not get it before Igoudala either. It all depends on how players leave and what happens to the team afterwards. Melo probably would've had his jersey retired already in Denver and might even have retired there to end his career if not for Jokic and everything that happened afterwards. Now, I don't see the Nuggets honoring Melo before not only Jokic, but not before Murray, Gordon, or any key role player from the title team.

I doubt OKC ever really embraces Durant again. He never did anything career redeeming during his time in the league after leaving GS and he’s basically given fans more reasons to hate him.

it would be a nice ending for a vilified personality

so we're talking about him REQUESTING a trade

...................if i was okc i wouldn't do it. their gears are set up perfectly right now and i wouldn't screw with it.
practically speaking, phx would ask for the world or at least ask for more than what okc would be willing to give up
=
ain't happening

also,,,that would be a "win now" move by okc and i just don't think they're in that mode. they're arc is right on schedule. "win now" is a desperation move

Win now while you can. If Phoenix doesn’t make any noise in the playoffs, they need to consider rebuilding. For OKC they have too many picks to roster so they need to consolidate and if they get KD for the right price they can win now and still dominate for the next 10 years

No, absolutely not. He burned the bridge, we were told to move on, and we have.

Although if Presti could get him for cheap, then turn around and flip him for assets once he was acquired, that'd be amazing.

He is not getting his number retired in OKC. Even as the 2nd best player in Thunder history, the organization knows the fans would be hostile to it, and don't believe his time in OKC is worthy of reverence given the circumstances of his departure. Durant will 100% have his number retired with the Warriors though.

There’s difference between best player in franchise history by accolades and achievements and best player in franchise history according to the fans. The best player in Miami Heat history is probably Lebron. Even though he was only there for 4 years he was the best player on 4 Finals teams, 2 title teams with 2 Finals MVPs and 2 league MVPs. But I’m sure if you asked Heat fans they’ll say the best player is Wade. KAJ won 3 MVPs with the Bucks and went to 2 NBA Finals winning one but I’m sure no Bucks fan has him over Giannis.

OKC had their most successful seasons when Durant was their best player and yet I cant imagine any OKC fan ranking him above Westbrook. It wouldnt surprise me if some Magic fans rank Shaq and T-mac over Dwight. It all depends how players leave.

Would be a fairytale story and honestly a good basketball fit if the Thunder didn't have to give up anything crazy. However given that Phx just gave up so much to get Durant I doubt they are trading him anytime soon even though I don't think the team they have is winning it all.

He's just waiting until they're the best team in the league. Too soon right now

Doubt the fan base would welcome him back and for good reason.

I was actually thinking if he signed their as a FA after his Phx contract runs out he could be in great position to let Chet and SGA in their primes carry him to a championship while still seeming like the good guy who came back to OKC.
