I wonder how he'd play in this pace?
He'd be once of the best in the league, maybe like Davis this season but the best version of Davis on a consistent basis.

Bro, don't be ridiculous.
Tyus Jones is a career 36.7% 3 point shooter.
Tim Duncan could never.
For his career he shot 17.9%.

Duncan for sure as he'd be able to anchor both sides of the court. Now jokic is a friggin cheat code on offense but the difference on defense is too much to overlook.

I definitely remember his abysmal play in the 04 finals, the 00 finals, 2011 against the Mavs, game 7 in 06, and 99 to 07 when the Lakers were 135-137 in games he played without Shaq. I remember him driving away Shaq, and telling the media he didn't care if his HoF coach was retained. I remember Phil's 2 books outlining in detail the myriad of toxic behaviors he engaged in. I remember Kobe driving Dwight Howard off the team and calling him his Tyson Chandler, refusing to play the way Mike D wanted, and then sabotaging his final years with the Lakers by refusing to take less money or adjust to a lesser role. I remember Kobe telling the media "I felt like I had a better chance of making the shot one on five as opposed if my teammates were wide open" after going 11-47.

He wasn’t even out of the league that long ago.
He was keeping up with the modern NBA with dodgy knees at an old age and we already saw his Spurs play the type of ball movement heavy offence that has taken over the NBA.
He’d be the best player in the NBA.

If 2003 TD play in today’s game. He is still the best player in the league.
Probably the best player on earth and pushing the hell
Out of jokic cause he was better defensively -
Damn and if Jokic, Duncan, Kawhi and SGA the faces of one league we would officially have no drama, no bs and the basketball league that KD and Kyrie always whining about - a league where basketball rules and no one talked about anything but on the court basketball- no politics no crazy club crap no fights no conditioning issues - just ball-
No commercials either lol
All four of those guys you mentioned have been in commercials though.
Yeah the most boring commercials ever
I don’t hate these guys - but they boring

Nah put him on the Spurs with Wemby and the roster they have now, and see how they fair. Probably fairly well.

Feels like that duo gets overlooked.
When he was drafted yes
When they won the title in Duncan's second season not on offense but defense and rebounding yes
After that he was headed downhill and he was not great when they won their second title together, his last season.
He did make all NBA 3rd team in 2000 I think that was based off reputation a bit because he was only averaging 14 ppg 8 rebounds and also Spurs were defending champs. But he was still an elite defender (5th in DPOY).
Imagine getting in the paint and you see the Twin Towers.

In 03 he averaged 24/15/5/3 in the playoffs while his team played at a 91.0 pace, you put that player in todays league with 4 shooters around him and 29/18/7/4 is probably what you're looking at. The man retired 8 years ago, it's not like he's from some bygone era.

Jokic and Duncan as 1A/1B for best players in the league.
Would love to see them go head to head in their primes.

KG was asked who was the best trash talker and he said believe it or not Tim Duncan.
In his rookie year his 3rd game Spurs were going to face Bulls and Tim was asked about Michael Jordan, he straight up said he didn't like him just didn't care about him at all lol. I don't know if it was meant to be funny I think he was serious but it's the way in my opinion athletes should act about other athletes, not fawn all over them. There needs to be more of that in today's NBA but everyone seems to be buddy buddy.
I don't think he wanted to be charismatic for the camera though for the most part just wanted to play basketball and be left alone and I respect that.

Best player. While Jokic did have an ATG run from 21-23, I think he's dropped off by a good margin compared to last year (this is no slight on Jokic. Last year was the greatest offensive season by a player ever imo so he reached a height where you can't really go anywhere but down, fwiw I still have him top 2 behind Giannis this season). But peak Timmy is overkill, he's BITW, though not by a particularly huge margin

Duncan + Wemby? They'd still need some more help because they both are bigs but man that would be a greater version of Twin Towers. A nightmare when you get in the paint.
It'll be like well we better have a good 3 point shooting night or we're not winning.
Wonder if they've asked Tim or David to help Wemby. Tyson Chandler is working with Dereck Lively on the Mavs.

Guys are going on about Jokic carrying scraps to the 6th seed. They should take a look at the garbage Duncan was carrying to contention in 02, or to the title in 03. Even the 01 support cast was pretty pitiful.

It was much weaker and primitive league though.
Am I doing it right?

Almost, he counts 01, 02 and 03 because Jordan wasn't dominating the league then.

Kobe played then though.

I don't follow his posts that close but I think I've seen him hate on Kobe too.

Sure, the league was weaker. But as I've told you, guys can transcend their league. There's plenty of reason Bill Russell wouldn't be a top 10 player today; he had no offense for example. Duncan's game translates just fine. I think he might not have quite as much longevity, because his lesser mobility in his old age would hinder him too much in certain match ups. But young Duncan was far more mobile and athletic than Jokic, even playing the 3 as a rookie.
