Is the thread asking where KD would rank if he won a title this year or will he will rank when he retires? Because I don’t think the Suns win a title this year.

Right now I have KD in the 13-21 range. I don’t think he will win another title and I think his game will continue to regress as he gets older. He’s no longer a top 5 player and has disappointed in the playoffs the last 2 years.

Yeah, to some degree. It also depends on his performance. Who was the one at the helm of the ship, Booker or Durant? Either way its a big boost but it would be bigger for him if he was the undisputed best player during the playoffs.

It's always funny how much we complain about the media focusing too much on players legacies and how many rings they have but here we are with the same topics.

I mean yes, if KD is the Suns best player and leads them to a chip this year taking out guys like Jokic and Tatum or Giannis on the way a FMVP, it would probably save his legacy and put him in the top 10 of all time.

That being said those odds are slim to none and Booker is often more valuable than him at times.

Suns are a dangerous team but I just can't see them beating teams like the Nuggets, Clippers, Mavericks or even OKC.

1-5

1. Jordan
2. Lebron
3. Kareem
4. Kobe
5. Duncan

6-10

6. Curry
7. Bird
8. Wilt
9. Magic
10. Shaq

11-15

11. Kd
12. Russell
13. Hakeem
14. K. Malone
15. Oscar

Kd winning a title knocks shaq out of top 10.

Two nights ago an announcer during an NBA game predicted a play in team to make the WCF, now this, and all the hype Lakers get. I thought they were play in teams because they weren't that great? Not even a top 6 seed. Lakers making the WCF last year has made everyone go crazy.

he's not winning a title this season so this discussion is moot

If he wins a title and FMVP this season he’s top 10 all time and ahead of Curry.

Also those saying “he’ll end up top 20 all time” are delusional haters. He’s easily already top 20.

So Currently, Currys offense is so much better than KDs that he should be in front of him as a player?

It doesn’t change the worthless valuation of his Warriors hardware, but it’d a decent first impressive achievement.

Instead of a couple worthless rings he’d have a mediocre ring

How the hell does this vault him ahead of Curry? Currys got a title both before and after him and was probably more important than him in the runs they did have together

How in the world is KD ahead of Hakeem? Compare the teammates they had when they won the championship.

Don’t know about that. It’s completely reasonable to have all these guys ahead of him:

1. Jordan
2. Lebron
3. Kareem
4. Russell
5. Wilt
6. Magic
7. Bird
8. Duncan
9. Hakeem
10. Kobe
11. Shaq
12. Curry
13. Moses Malone
14. Dr. J
15. Oscar Robertson
16. Jerry West
17. Jokic
18. Giannis
19. Dirk
20. KG

He's around 18-22

If he wins another finals mvp and title this year, he'll jump to 13-15. A title without best the best player on his team would only push him up to 16-18 range.

Exactly. I would like to see the top 20 list of the person saying we're delusional haters, I can call him a delusional hater of whoever he has at 21, because that's going to be a really good player who is even top 10 or 15 in some peoples lists.

I don't think he needs any redeeming.

He has been a monster player all his career. He played in one of the best teams ever.

He isn't top 10 ever, but TOP 10 in basketball is ultra expensive. Better players than him aren't there either.

If KD has 4 combined MVPs and FMVPs he’s ahead of Curry. By the way when they were teammates Durant outshined Curry EASILY. Get outta here with that “he was probably more important in the runs they had together”. Durant won FMVP twice over Curry and deserved it. People just love to hate on Durant for going to GS in the first place and throw away all objectivity when evaluating his career.

2017 Finals:
Durant: 35.2ppg 8.2red 5.4ast (.556/.474/.927)
Steph: 26.6ppg 8reb 9.4ast (.440/.388/.897)

2018 Finals:
Durant: 28.8ppg 10.8reb 8.5ast (.526/.409/.963)
Steph: 27.5pts 6reb 6.8ast (.402/.415/1.00)

Considering the Suns chances are so tiny, a title win this season would look quite good on his career.
But let's be real here. This thread topic would have made more sense 6 months ago. Suns stink and play like a rec team who was patched together.

KD is 35 bro. His career is pretty much already set. He failed to win a championship as the main guy and failed with multiple superteams.

Great talent, but he will never be top 10 all-time on my list.

Also this dude refers to himself as a God. He's a cornball.

iggymcfrack wrote:Sure winning a title with that thin team would be the most impressive thing KD’s done in his entire career by a mile and it would radically reshape the perception of his career if it happens. It’s also INCREDIBLY unlikely. Basketball-reference currently gives the Suns a 0.3% chance to win the title compared to a 0.8% chance to fail to even make the play-in. I’m not saying I think their chances are actually that low, but I don’t think they’re realistic contenders at all. I’d say there’s a better chance they miss the playoffs than there is that they make the second round.

For your other largely unrelated question, I voted top 25 as I currently have KD at #25 and I don’t really see him doing anything to pass Kobe for #24 or to get passed by anyone below him any time soon.

Kobe #24 and KD #25???
OK, that’s saying that you don't like those two players AT ALL. Got it.
