The Nuggets got punched in the mouth for two games, to expect the champs not to come back and go straight for Minny's chin with a vengeance in game 3 u don't know playoff basketball, Especially if your a Defending champ with pride. Like i said after game two this is gonna be a long series , and the best team will win eventually. Gobert isn't the reason they loss tonight , Denver regaining there balance and playing to there strength and getting hot and Minnys defense taking a game off is why the nuggets won. If you look at the regular season they matched up well and i think went 2-2 against each other if memory serves. So expect a slugfest. Whomever wants it more and plays to their strength is gonna win each game in this series.

Wolves have a NetRtg of +22.3 with Gobert on the floor this postseason and he has an on/off of +13.4. Both marks are second best on the team behind McDaniels. Overreacting to one game would be asinine.

I guess I'll be the one that responds with "it depends on the match up". Against a player like Jokic or Embiid, his opponents will still get numbers. Just not as dominant as they would be otherwise. But against more guard oriented/jump shot teams, yes?

In game 2 without Gobert, they were heavily doubling Jokic. In G3 With Gobert playing they 1v1 him. Maybe they should go back to doubling even with Gobert in the backline. They can recover very well with their length and force TO's.

Phew, Jokic is a GOAT candidate again and Gobert sucks in the playoffs. The world is back in its proper order

That game was lost in the first half, Jokic wasn’t really a factor. It was just the overall team execution for Denver and lack of execution for Minny.

Minnesota loses that game if Denver doesn't come out flat like that have in game 1s all series long. 14 point deficit to start. With a bit more effort, Denver would have been up double digits at the half and survived a late game push.

The problem with Rudy, imo, is that the defense can function without him. He absolutely raises the ceiling, but brings nothing offensively. Minnesota has shown last night that they will struggle to score against competent defenses. And Rudy does not stretch the floor on offense.

My gripe, all season, has been Minnesotas average defense. They've looked great in their first 6 games because their opponents weren't playing defense. Last night was the first time they faced some defensive pressure, and everyone, including Edwards, were discombobulated. It'll only get tougher as the playoffs progress. Especially against Dallas/OKC, and Boston, all of who have higher ceilings defensively than Denver.

Not at all. Denver had a good game, they are the defending champs. They weren't going to just roll over.
