Re: Jokic's teammates failed him...AGAIN.
Jokic was pretty bad in the second half I have to say. And 90% of it was because he played 47 mins and was just totally gassed, you could tell.
They desperately need a backup for him.

Basically this.
Gotta get more depth this summer, at minimum.
Jokic 31/21/22
Luka & Oscar = 5 x 27/8/8
The Brodie = All-out energy

The guy gassed hard down the stretch, but ya. Pretty wild the series even got to game seven with MPJ averaging 10 PPG on sub-40 shooting and Murray averaging 15 on 17 shots from games 1-6. The Nuggets FO should be ashamed of what they did last summer.

The MPJ version of Tobias, not the MJ version correct?

No bench, zero impact from the role players, Jokic gassed having to play 47 mins since they dont have another big. Denver's ownership is cheap and is paying the price. The lack of depth is staggering, Monte Morris didnt even see the floor for the Wolves, he'd be the 6th man in Denver.

That was not the reason they lost. Porter was 3/12, KCP was 2/7, and they had nothing from their bench. Murray was 2/7 in the third, it was brutal.
Jokic took a couple too many 3s, but that wasn't the deciding factor in the game at all.

His teammates were turrible offensively, they played hard defensively but gave him zero support but of course the narrative will be that Jokic didn't deliver in the big moment despite the fact that he could hardly even stand at the end due to being overworked and over relied upon.

Playing basically the whole game in game 7, working hard on defense on the glass, it's a lot of work, so understandable that you have to take some outside shots, especially when Minny is locking down their pick and roll.

Exactly. They challenged him to shoot the 3. And he messed that up.
Jokic should've taken it to the basket. But KAT and Naz played great against him too.

MPJ was neutralized after game 3. The bench was a disaster.
The Nuggets were hoping that Jaden McDaniels would go cold. He stepped up and made big shots.

Re: Jokic's teammates failed him...AGAIN.
This is basically a LeBron in Cleveland scenario (better teammates obviously but similar idea). Jokic got his ring but it took a lot of good fortune with playoff opponents and Murray playing like a top-10 player throughout the playoffs. Not sure where Denver goes from here. Running it back with the same core won't cut it.

Re: Jokic's teammates failed him...AGAIN.
Jokic will catch heat because he's a 3 time MVP and it comes with the territory, but Malone couldn't afford to rest him more than 1 minute because everyone else just continuously crapped the bed over and over again.
I honestly just think it was a bad matchup. Minnesota was just built to handle Denver. Honestly surprised the series went 7 games.
Denver is kind of stuck with the roster they have. At least the starters. Hope they can add a bench piece or two. They are still definite contenders, I'm not going to freak out and act like the sky is falling.

Jokic and his teammates were playing 8 on 5 all night, at home.

Re: Jokic's teammates failed him...AGAIN.
They weren’t great (minus first half Murray) but let’s not pretend like Jokic was amazing. Brick after brick from deep and bad defense.
