4th seed in the West Easy this season

Haters are so funny

Here are teams that for sure better than the Lakers.

Thunder
Timberwolves
Mavericks
Nuggets
Grizzlies
Pelicans
Warriors(assuming they get Lauri Markkanen)
Suns(gap a bit smaller compared to the rest, but still)

That's 8 teams right there. Not to mention that the Spurs could trade for ether Trae Young or Lauri Markkanen if the Warriors/Jazz trade fall through. The Rockets will improve through young player getting better. The Kings are looking to get upgrade and I even they're better than the Lakers anyway. I say Kawhi led team with James Harden + the depth they got is better than the Lakers and they may even get Bridges as well, which will only increase the gap. So the Lakers could very well be a 12-14 seed team that also over the 2nd tax apron.

So fourth seed with Lebron and AD in the biggest market is a success now?

And no chance they get anywhere within the top 6. They have a better chance of missing the top 12 than getting a top 4 seed with this roster. Grant won't fix that.

Lakers are getting a star not grant

This free agency? You don't mean Bronny James right?

Based on what exactly? They had exceptional health from AD and Lebron last year and finished 7th. Where are you expecting improvement to come from? Bronny James?

3rd Star, A Real Coach that was coached By Coach K
Better depth and experience from young players

LeBron motivated by his son playing with Him
AD might get on the Trade Block by the deadline

lol ah yes, coaching magic.
I remember the Raptors' fans were using "new coach" as a reason for optimism last year, didn't work out too well.
If they get a 3rd star, i'll change my mind but that that's far fetched considering the assets they have remaining.

LeBron motivated by his son playing with Him

...idk even know what to say to this

Actually I think it's the Lakers obsession with Lebron rather than the other way around (least their front office, led by Jeanie and Rob)

The Lakers Front Office and management are too obsessed making money and PR from the Lebron brand they have dropped the ball on contending for Chips.

I don't think most Lakers fans will be too happy if the Celtics win another chip in the next few years and the Lakers keep swimming in play in/first round play off exit waters.

Lebron destroyed the lakers the last few years. Team is being ran by Lebron and friends as owners. The laughing stock of the league

I mean the same thing happened to Kobe (although Lebron is better than Kobe was at this point in his career). Eventually all aging superstars will become bad contracts. Lakers are continuing to show players around the league that they take care of their guys.

Lebron is more than worth the contract off the court so there is incentive to keep him around.

This wouldn't be the smartest move from Lebron. He should just take as much money as he can possibly make and call it a day. He shouldn't help them on preventing them from being a 2nd tax apron team. It's clear that they're next trade they will do will involve AD. Nobody wants the garbage that the Lakers have.

He’s gonna use that $1 million paycut as a bargaining chip to force Pelinka to do something

Kobe never got his son and his podcast partner to be on the team

These next 2 years are all about Lebron, his son, and his podcast buddy. Everyone else including their fans don’t matter. All the attention will be on Lebron but when it comes to blame, he’ll get none by his delusional fanbase and all the blame will predictably go to JJ, Pelinka, AD, some 3rd guy off the bench, etc even though these are all Lebron moves as acting owner.

a 1 million dollar paycut is much more realistic than the 20 or so million he allegedy said he would take. If he doesn't do that then I think it's fair for Laker fans to critize Lebron for not wanting to do the Lakers a solid after they drafted his son.

The Las Vegas franchise will probably cost $6-$8 billion. Gotta pinch pennies.
