Did it all in just 11 1/2 seasons. Some GOATS win (Russell) and some have longevity stats (Lebron) but Jordan has the best mix of winning AND stats.

This doesn't even mention Jordan's NCAA and Olympic accomplishments. If we're giving Lebron credit for his longevity due to the number of seasons he played we should also give Jordan credit for what he did while in college.

If you are arguing the basketball GOAT yeah the accomplishments of NCAA count too. If it's the NBA GOAT then obviously not.

If that's the case I believe Kareem rises even more, as his college career was the most impressive.

Its Jordan but there will never be a consensus “goat” and we dont need a thread about this every week to discuss.

It's now 3:30 am for me haha feeling better:) Sobre ish.

I was considering adding Yes OR No In regards to the topic, but people use polls as a guidence/lazyness and so for that reason decided to add more players too the poll with "Other Insert comment" for all too discuss.

There Isn't a need to have multiple threads on every little disscussion about every little thing, need to start limiting these types of talks IMO

Peace Out!

I will chime in on this topic.

It could be argued and likely will be argued forever about who is the 'greatest basketball player of all time' because different generations, different impacts on the game and different accomplishments. There are so many aspects to consider, more than just playing or winning.

Except, that it seems like Jordan will forever be known as 'the goat' because that term rose up along with him, the term was coined because of him. More than just his accomplishments as a player, his global notoriety and how it spread the game internationally was unprecedented.

But probably the most 'goat' like thing he did is the signature way he stuck out his tongue while playing, kinda taunting the opponent, sort of like how goats stick out their tongues, too. So he will forever be known as 'the goat' even if ultimately he isn't the greatest of all time.

Which he might be...I really don't care, it's a silly argument in my opinion.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

Yes, Kareem's college career also should be considered and it's also possibly the most impressive of anyone.

*** Please Note *** I've changed the poll had Wilt In there, while I think Wilt Is a great player, don't think too many If any have him In top 5 If even TOP 10 list as it's a tough LIST...

I've replaced him with Stephen Curry worthy of the goat debate talk - Not that Wilt Isn't but you know.

Peace.

Lebron clearly the best basketball player that has stepped a foot on a basketball court. It's not even close.

There is a debate if you want to discuss allocades and championships, but as a basketball player, if you really understand the game and pay attention, there is no debate.

MJ was the most dominant player and most iconic one tho.

Homer Lakers' fans. I wonder if they honestly considered Lebron GOAT before he came to LA?? I think we all know the answer.

It's actually sad that Lebron has as many votes that he has right now compared to the actual GOAT in Jordan, and compared to some of these other greats that are likewise ahead of LeDrama.

There is no such thing as GOAT (Greatest Of All Time)

There can only be GOTT (Greatest Of Their Time)

If only there was some kind of board dedicated to comparing players. Threads like these could be contained there where they belong

Kareem gets my vote just for saying this:
“These GOAT discussions are fun distractions while sitting around waiting for the pizza to be served. But they’re on a par with ‘Which superpower would you want most: flight or invisibility?’ Whether I’m included or not in anyone’s list doesn’t matter. I played my hardest and I helped my teammates. That’s the most important thing I walked away with.

The reason there is no such thing as the GOAT is because every player plays under unique circumstances. We played different positions, under different rules, with different teammates, with different coaches. Every player has to adapt to their circumstances and find a way to excel. This isn’t Highlander. There can be more than one.”

Well, for saying that; being a 6x NBA Champ; 6x MVP, 11x All-Defense; and having mind-blowing advanced stats over a 20 year NBA career.

I picked Russsell cause he has 3 S's in his name on the poll. I bet your name doesn't have 3 S's

LeBron is the GOAT but voted Jokic since he's a poll option.
