One of the most exciting players to watch in the league. He's been playing fantastic basketball and completely throws away the notion that you need the 3 ball to adapt to the modern NBA. Dude plays like an absolute bull but has the grace of a bigman kyrie around the basket.
Raul
“The other day I saw one of his games. He was running with the ball at a hundred per cent full speed, I don’t know how many touches he took, maybe five or six, but the ball was glued to his foot. It’s practically impossible.”

I don't think the Pels want to move him, and nobody wants to pay what the Pels would demand in such a trade. Should be a good team next year health permitting.

Re: Zion has been playing really well lately. Time to trade him ASAP.
I think he eventually asks out, but until then, I would just hold onto him.
It sucks that he was drafted there and that they never even attempted to do a rebuild. One of the worst parts of these mega trades is that the team trading away the star (AD) get the trash of the other team, prospects they know aren't going to amount to much of anything, and have to get paid way faster than you'd want.
Because of this, NO thought they were further along in their process, when in reality it just started, so they signed too many vets. They dbl downed on that this offseason, and still have CJ locked up for big money, Murray locked up for big money, and Olynyk for MLE. I HATE those contracts but luckily they smartened up and didn't pay BI. There is still hope with Trey also being just 24, Hawkins coming along, and what will most likely be a Top 5 pick in a draft everyone in here keeps telling me has GOAT level potential.
Before the Ingram trade, I was all for getting rid of Zion, now? Just keep him, see who you draft, and try to fix the roster and trade CJ or Murray if you can.
Missi
Zion
Murphy- Jones
Hawkins
Top 5 pick
That's an incredible young core when healthy, and has a lot of wiggle room. They already have their scorers in Zion/Murphy, 6th man scorer in Hawkins, and defensive minded big in Missi. Get them another high potential guy that can play right away, and they just might have what it takes to keep Zion in NO.
One thing worth mentioning to, it Zion is legit making peanuts at this point compared to talent, and one court production when he plays. He's signed for 4 years and his contract starts at 36 per, that solid all-star money for a guy with Top 10 impact when he's right.
If the right package comes around though, like a Top 5 pick in this draft and then some, I would still consider it though, but only because I expect Zion to ask out. The propaganda has been going on for too long, but maybe he'll surprise me. It won't happen this season unless he asks for it, but if they don't bounce back, I expect him to be gone by next off season.
Obvious destinations would be BRK, MIA , Clips, and CHI. I think he goes to MIA personally.

Putting health concerns aside, kinda tough to see the fit. Can you really play him in lineups with Duren? Ausar? Holland? We can only feature so much non-shooting. And then take into account the defensive end ...
If they traded for Zion, a few of the players you named would probably be going to NO. You'd need to surround Cade and Zion with shooters tho.

Both CJ and Olynyk expire after next season. Olynyk has looked like a really good fit so far and should be a solid contributor next year.

Castle/Sochan/Keldon Johnson+FRP for Zion..
NOP moves on and puts Zion's availability concerns behind them and forms a super exciting young core, ready to compete right away..
Missi/Olynyc
Murphy/Sochan
Herb/Keldon
Castle/Hawkins
CJ/Alvarado/*Murray
+ FRP 25
Spurs form a nightmare group, still young and with room for improvement
Fox/Vassell/Zion/Wemby

Zion and Wemby on the same team would be up there w/ the greatest duo of two freakish talents on same team in nba history and both would be in their prime.
Magic/Kareem
Duncan/Robinson-robinson past his prime
Kobe/Shaq
Kd/Curry- curry is not physical freak but freakish talent at his size nonethless
Lebron/Luka-lebron past his prime

Should be illegal to compare Zion with Simmons in any way.
Zion likes basketball, he just doesn't like what needs to be done to be in shape, but at least his shape has improved. Simmons just doesn't give a **** and is only there to collect paychecks. It was not just about the shooting, he shied away from contact more and more with the passing years, as he was scared to go to the FT line, if not scared, at least he didn't want a part of it.

Re: Zion has been playing really well lately. Time to trade him ASAP.
If the Pels can get a decent return for him they should. Now is probably the last time they can move him while he's still considered a star. His stats are good this year when he plays, it might be enough to fool a team into taking the chance.
I think it's possible Zion can put together a few healthy/productive years but there is no chance that happens in the Big Easy. The Pels need to get a decent package in return and they let him be someone else's reclamation project.

I have always believed that Zion is the correct partner for Wemby, not Fox. Both can make plays for each other. And Zion give the Spurs another presence in the paint when Wemby is on the perimeter or the bench.
Although I think the Spurs would rather relinquish another FRP than give up Castle.

He’s been an absolute monster this year.
He's never averaged close to 36 minutes in the NBA, so this stat is useless. Also, he's played 24 games, not a year.

I wonder...are the SPURS the kind of franchise that would take a chance on Zion?

Sure..but I think NOP needs to get at least one impact prospect to justify the trade..and Castle, while great, is in another stratosphere of player level..in my opinion.

If I was a betting man, I'd take the side of Zion not being in NO starting next season.

If Philly won the lottery, what about Cooper Flagg & Paul George for Zion + filler?
New Orleans gets the more reliable cornerstone, while absorbing a bad contract, but maybe a guy who could mentor Flagg. Some have compared Flagg to George.
Philly gets off a bad contract, while getting a more win now guy to team up w/ Embiid in his remaining yrs of effectiveness, then Maxey subsequently.
