Well deserved, no brainer pick imo

Not really. Cavs aren't good because they have the best defense, they have the best offence. Their offence is #1.

Their defense is #8.

The award in decades hasn't gone to someone outside mostly a top 3 defense except Camby in 2007 because he had like 3.3 blocks and 1.2 steals a game, and his teammates were Carmelo and AI.

But since there was so many injuries this year, there really weren't many good options to give it to basically.

The problem these days is defenses are such a team concept, what with closing on 3 point shooters as well as protecting the paint, who could you give it to on OKC despite the fact they far and away have the best defense?

Honestly him and Allen shoulda got co-DPOY, they're both super important to the Cavs defense.

They kinda remind me of Duncan and Robinson. Mobley and Allen aren't that level but just their dynamic.

All good I'm not mad at the pick...I just liked Dyson a bit more because the Great Barrier Thief is absolutely smothering in man coverage, gives me flashbacks of a young Kawhi defensively.

Horrible pick. Not even close. Even outside of Wemby... Amen, Zu, Draymond, Dort way more deserving for various reasons. Cavs have fallen off hard defensively the second half of this season.

Zubac and Amen I would have been fine with, but how can anyone say Draymond when their defense didn't turn until Butler joined? For 50 games, Warriors are treading water, then all of a sudden he turned into the best defender in the league? No f'n way. Those fifty games count.

I mean... no? You literally wrote that you didn't think Mobley could ever win DPOY once Wemby entered the league. Mobley winning isn't exactly the surprise of the century, considering Wemby doesn't qualify this year.

It's like saying, "Wow, I didn't think Drummond could ever hit more three-pointers in a season than Steph Curry!"—in a season where Curry suffered a season-ending injury three minutes in.
