Not really. Cavs aren't good because they have the best defense, they have the best offence. Their offence is #1.
Their defense is #8.
The award in decades hasn't gone to someone outside mostly a top 3 defense except Camby in 2007 because he had like 3.3 blocks and 1.2 steals a game, and his teammates were Carmelo and AI.
But since there was so many injuries this year, there really weren't many good options to give it to basically.
The problem these days is defenses are such a team concept, what with closing on 3 point shooters as well as protecting the paint, who could you give it to on OKC despite the fact they far and away have the best defense?
