He took just 9 shots in a do-or-die game and finished -23.

But anyway, let’s not focus on the negatives, because we're often too guilty of that.

Let’s talk about the real story, the coronation of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as the best player in the world.

I’ve never had him in my top 2 even, but this series has ended the debate. Shai has taken the mantle. Jokic had his window. SGA just kicked it shut. Congrats to SGA and Thunder fans.

I have to say you been in the top 5 worst posters this year… there have been plenty of contenders but I think by the end of nba season, you will be at the top.

This thread sucks, let’s just get that top 5 from you and talk about it instead

Denver fired their head coach and GM before the end of the season. I would say they held their own.

It took game 7 for SGA to win.

Interesting topic!

This is a wild take considering Jokic won a championship with this same core for the most part just a few years ago. Now they all bums and can't play.

Nah Jokic just didn't do enough as the best player in the world.

This post immediately reminded me of this recent commentary from conservative pundit Scott Jennings. The first reaction is... you've got to be **** me. Then... it's got to be a bit, a troll job. Finally you realize... no, he really believes this crap.

Nah, hes been trolling with the other Lakers/LeBron stans trying to drag Jokic down, guess he was mentioned too often in the GOAT discussions for their comfort...

Murray hasn't even come CLOSE to replicating his performance in 2023 the last 2 years, when he's not scoring he's a legitimate nonfactor on the floor, MPJ was also atrocious in these playoffs. They also replaced key contributing role players like KCP & Bruce Brown with the likes of Westbrook.

You genuinely don't know basketball if you think Jokic isn't winning the series if he had SGA's supporting cast. I'd be quite confident the series wouldn't even get to a 7th game if the two of them swapped teams.

Superstars show up when the cast doesn’t. Braun was very good. LeBron has dragged teams worse than what Denver has. Giannis has averaged near 40 to carry Milwaukee. Jokic never takes over games. He shouldve started forcing shots. Anything to get offense rolling.

If half of his stans show up at the same time, its more like you guys have Jokic fear Syndrome

Worry not, Jokic will soon be widely accepted as the GOAT of the 2000's and we'll all have peace.

SGA is the best player in the game and MVP over Jokic, and vastly outplayed him in a pivotal and legacy defining Game 7.

Revisionist history. LeBron has NEVER dragged a team as bad as what Jokic had today, and he NEVER had to face opposition like Jokic had. He hid in the weak east forever, and even there surrendered and went to build superteams. Do you really think we forgot?

He didnt face a team like the Clippers, with two superstars. He certainly never faced a team like OKC with the coming MVP and another allstar while he was on his first Cavs stint. And he never had only 1.5 instead of 4 starters available. Murray sick and slumping, MPJ no shoulder, Gordon no hamstring.

2007 Cavs were objectively worse. Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray are better than everyone else and you still have Braun and MPJ

We are talking about todays game. MPJ was better than who on those cavs? He cant even shoot. Gordon plays on a fked up Hamstring. Murray is still sick. Both Murray and MPJ played terrible most of the postseason anyway. You think you plug LeBron in for Jokic today and they win? come on.

Your "painful truths" seem to be really off most days

2015 against the Warriors, Delly and Mosgov were his best teammates after his team got injured. Delly needed IVs after the games. I could call that 1.5 starters

The Boston big 4 in his first stint?
The Spurs in 2007?

You act like LeBron never played a team as good as the washed Clippers  amazing

You act like he played the Hawks every series  you're too old to not have watched those series, unless you just recently got into the NBA

Jokic is the best player in the league, but the swapping team thing is dumb. Jokic on OKC solidifies their center position while SGA on Nuggets doesn't solve any of Denver's lack of bigs issue. Of course Jokic will do better. The teams are built around the stars. You can't just swap them for a comparison.

The Olympics ended the "best player in the world debate".

Jokic took the dream team to the brink with his drinking buddies from Serbia. Then won the bronze.

Shai's Canada couldn't even advance past the QFs with a team full of NBA talent lol.

What? Aaron Gordon is the third option on the Nuggets and is better than any teammate Lebron ever had on the Cavs in his first 7 years.

Lebron in his first 7 years would kill to have Gordon, Porter Jr. and Murray on his team.

A team with James, Murray, Gordon, Porter Jr would be lethal in the early 2000s, especially on the defensive end.

Same core, but their health hasn't been the same.

Murray's playing nowhere near 2023 level, MPJ shoulder injury, AG battled injuries all year.

The 2023 had a combination of great core play, combined with Bruce Brown and CB coming off the bench and maintaining leads.
