Rick Carlisle should get the Most Valuable vote, just scratch the word "player" from the trophy.

If Indy wins, and Haliburton doesn't have an absolute stat-stuffing performance, I think the MVP has to go to Siakam. McConnell gets an honorable mention, but you simply can't give the MVP to a guy who was 7th on the team in total minutes and was mostly guarded by OKC reserves.

Siakam has been the steadiest and most consistently productive Pacer in the series. He leads them in points and rebounds, and is second in steals and blocks, and has played good defense overall. And it's not like he is some forgotten role player who is benefitting from the Pacers selling out to shut down Haliburton. Siakam is the team's leading scorer in the regular season too. OKC is definitely game planning against him.

Normally, I'm in favor of giving the MVP to the team's best player under the premise that anyone else really only plays well due to the defensive attention drawn by the best player. But I don't think that applies in this case. If Haliburton is the team's best player, Siakam has always been more of a nearly coequal star rather than a second-fiddle.

I say we cancel finals mvp this year, both teams are winning by committee.
