Someone go find the thread where people were saying he was going to be owed a max, my lord I remember so many people thinking there was this magical deal for him. He's lightning in a bottle. McCain looked good with those minutes, and so did he. It's a symptom of him playing over his role when a team is ravaged by injuries. Sixers didn't have their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd option, so all those minutes went to them. He's fools gold at anything over an MLE.

I can see why he wants that, is worth it, but market dictates / affects price, too. He may be pricing himself out of a great situation which could get him up for an even bigger payday when more teams have more cap space/ want to trade for him.

Well the Sixers own matching rights for another year anyways. He really should be realistic and should be looking for offers to gain a bit of leverage. Starting out asking for 25m probably ends interest for most teams and makes it likely he either massively comes down once the FA money dries up or he plays out the 8.1M final year.

There's usually numerous players like this every year down the stretch that are looters in a riot. In fantasy hoops, we call it "silly season"

That doesn't negate that he's a lot better than NAW who hasn't shown the ability to get that literally everywhere he went.

Of course having Embiid, Maxey and George back will hurt his stats. Not enough usage available.

That doesn't mean he doesn't deserve 25. The only way he doesn't get it is because no team has cap space.
He would be a no brainer pick up at that price tag if this was 2026, when lots of teams do have cap space available.

28 game simple size. That's not silly season, sorry.

He has shown flashes for the Mavs as well, not like some of the guys who came out of nowhere during real silly season, and you never hear about them again next year.

NAW has shown to have impact in the playoffs.

I like Grimes but he’s a journeyman who had a good run on a team that literally sat out everyone to tank.
