This is laughable. Smack in face is not foul for Finland but missed dunk= 2 FTA for Germany

Tristan such a great addition to our team. He will make his way in the NBA. Let's go!

Finland is tough, but this game looks done. Markannen didn't bring his A game today. They needed a 30 piece from him to win this game. I admire Finland's players because many of them had difficult paths to becoming pros, meaning that they had to go through some "trash" leagues to get to where they are now.

Would be nice to see them get a bronze medal. However, it will take a herculean effort to beat Turkey/Greece.

Easy. Now I'm going with Türkiye over Greece.

With Germany winning the finals.

31 vs 18 FTA disparity after having 37 vs 25 vs Slovenia. My post gave Germany 4 FTA for finals.

Refs flat out don't allow teams to defend vs Germany, on other hand Germany is allowed to play defense like it's 1988

In pretty much same play smack in face wasn't foul, but guy missing dunk gave Germany 2 FTA.

Senguns sheer size coupled with that passing ability will be a huge problem for us, provided Turkey wins. If Germany can score 105 points, I think we have a chance.

Finland needed good three point shooting to compete and even if their shooting wasn't abysmal it wasn't good enough, They missed way too many open shots. And they also needed Germany to fail from three, but compared to earlier two games Germany decided to shoot well today. Someone have said live by three die by three and today Finland did the dying.

Also way too many amateurish turnovers.

For NBA fans. Markkanen was awful. Half the finnish team was better than him, so it's no surprise he had worst +- in the team and by large margin. Without him team was +12 with him -24.

Great game, great victory. The defense and rebounding was much improved compared to last game and of course we hit some threes. Schröder the best player on the court, scored every time when the team struggled but didn't force things. Respect to Finland - they competed until the end but with great sportsmanship. A big contrast to the whiners we faced in the quarters. Markkanen on the other hand was very disappointing. He made some threes, but other than that you couldn't see that he is a near max NBA player. Couldn't create for himself and couldn't dominate inside. They needed way more than that from him..

And we've had all this success, although nba rotation level players in Kleber and Hartenstein have never played for us.

I agree with what you said about Lauri. He looked like a liability today. That said, he deserves a ton of praise for playing every year and being the main reason Finnish basketball is on the map.

You needed a full team plus ref help to barely beat 1 guy. What a monumental success that was. On top of that, your coach, Schroeder and Franz constantly on refs throats but i guess you looked away when that was happening.

I didn't watch the game but I have watched a lot of Franz and outside of a casual pointing to where he was fouled to the refs, he rarely barks at the refs and has said in the past that his brother does enough barking for the whole team, so this would be interesting to see out-of him for sure.

considering Germany's demography it makes me giggle that the only teams left in the competition are Germany, Turkey and Greece

The Markkanen hype train kinda crashed at the end. I saw some of the highlights vs Serbia, and I noticed that he did not take or create good shots for himself. Obviously not a leading star in the NBA, but with some setup/plays and decent playmaking around him he can still be great as a 2nd or 3rd option.
