Full-on media blitz this morning for Giannis apparently. It's almost as if there's a concerted effort to get him out of Milwaukee and into a larger market like New York or something. Totally spontaneous and not at all coordinated, I'm sure.

For the sake of genuine discussion, could the Knicks afford to sign Giannis to an extension if he was traded to them without sacrificing at least 2 of Bridges/OG and KAT who are on big money under the current cap/luxury tax strings?

On the other hand I feel like the Knicks may disappoint/undeachieve this season under Mike Brown and Giannis may look elsewhere to try ring chase (possibly Houston) ?

Feel genuinely bad for Bucks fans though, you don't want to read crap like this with the regular season a couple of weeks away. Makes me wonder why Shams leaked this now ? Does he have hidden agenda aka secret Knicks fan ??

Considering Giannis would be coming to play with Brunson, Bucks wouldn’t get him. And no team would give up significant pieces without getting the reassurance he’s going to re-up. KAT + other pieces might be the best they can get.

Disappoint? How so? Offense will be improved under Brown, and they addressed their bench depth. Even last years team ended the Celtics , so imagine what they'd do now in a weaker East.

We all know Bucks need to win now (because they don’t own their future), BUT Bucks are also void of assets for a post Giannis era. Towns is 30yo and had his chance to prove if he could lead a franchise to more than just playoff fodder. That doesn’t scream an awesome asset to trade top 3 player in NBA for.

To Bucks: OG/Grant/McBride/Clingan or Yang (Blaz choose)/All Kicks draft capital (lol)/As many Bucks picks back as Blaz will give

Blazers seems ready to win more now and Towns sure helps with that.

Horry is a role player so maybe a bad comp, but who would I remember more fondly, Dirk who won one or KD who won 2. The answer is Dirk. Kobe is good example, I mean he had all time great career, but he is remembered by many like some kind of basketball god figure, and I really doubt it would be the case if he won his 5 or even more , by jumping teams.

Giannis for OG/Bridges, who are then spun off by Milwaukee to contenders for expiring salary/picks, seems like a pretty good possibility next summer if the Knicks don't make the Finals.
