I don't think it was dumb, the price was low to get him. Their offense could be like a crude version of the Celtics, where they had 4 guys that could handle the ball, the shooting is obviously going to be the make or break but if they're just league average shooters it would work.

Castle is 6'7" in shoes and Harper is 6'6" in shoes, these aren't small combo guards.

there are 2 sides to the court. Wemby averaging 27/11/4/4 is more impactful than Jokic averaging 30/13/10

If you're measuring actual impact, the only thing that actually matters is winning the minutes when you're on the court. Nobody has done that better than Jokic in the last few years. The on/off splits are also comical, it's ridiculous how much better Denver is with him on the court than off it. Nobody is even close to him in that category.

Obviously not (assists), but does he have to?

Well, if you're talking about surpassing Jokic then yes? The numbers need to at least be comparable or he needs to score or rebound way more than Jokic to make up for the lack of assist numbers.

Bad timing, no one expected at that time that Wemby will be out and they'll get a great prospect in Harper with #2 pick. But they didn't invest in Fox that much and trading him for couple of first rounders won't be a difficulty if he stays healthy.

Trade Fox for Ware +. Build a monster lineup that dominates for the next 15 years.

Being a GOAT-level defender and winning DPOTY unanimously may be enough, lol.

I agree that it's clear that Jokic has been the best player in the NBA for the past 4-5 years now but I definitely see Wemby as the clear successor to the throne over the next several years.

If we're lucky, we will get some playoff matches to prove it.

Wemby will get there, just think it's probably too big of a leap to get there this year. That says more about how great Jokic is than anything else.

If tonight is any indication of what’s to come consistently. Yes Wemby will now run the league. Absolutely no doubt about it.

I'd like to see Wemby average 40 PPG and 15 REB Wilt Chamberlain-style. He can probably do it.

Can his body really hold up to all the bumping and banging if he truly limits the 3 point shooting and keeps attacking the basket? That's my only question. He's so fluid for his size and long with that tremendous touch that he'll dominate if he can stay healthy.

If he's going to average 5 blocks and another 5 deflections per game, the lack of assists won't matter, will they?
30/15/5/5/2 is better than a triple double.
Two way dominance.

Jokic vs Wemby last year

46-9-10 vs 20-23-3, DEN won 122-111
41-18-9 vs 35-18-4, SAS won 113-110

They both missed the game on April 2nd.

I think he'll be fine.

Jokic is amazing, but Wemby didn't look like this last year.

So using past numbers doesn't make sense.

I think it does. It's the start of the season and this stuff happened a few months back, not three years ago.

Let's wait until November 28th at least to see where they stand against each other.

I can’t believe that at least one player from TOP5 isn’t from USA.

Wembanyama is otherworldly but he's boring to watch. Every highlight of his is like watching a normal guy play on a kids hoop, he barely needs to jump to dunk.

Whenever I watch his highlight my first thought isn't that it's impressive, it's that basketball must be so easy when you're that size
