his value is like,,,1/5 of what it was 3yrs ago
does any team want him at this point? does parity and depth help his case? maybe, as a 7th man for only 18mpg

Pelicans are better off cutting him and not worry about him anymore if he can stay healthy or not

Friendly reminder that Dumars traded an unprotected pick this year and now they are looking to be the worst team in basketball right now.

Re: Zion injury again
I think we're getting close to the time to start predicting the 30 for 30 "what if I told you..." tag line for Zion's career. Or most likely Zion and Ja.
Im just not creative enough to think of a good "what if I told you" tag line for those two, that's not completely on the nose haha

One of the most physically gifted players in nba history its a travesty his career didnt pan out how it was suppose to. At least someone like blake griffin had 5-6yr period of being all nba caliber and a highlight reel machine. We didn't even really get that.

Bankai wrote:Greg Oden and Zion constantly getting injured by wind breezes, derailing their careers. Not sure who is the biggest "what if"..
To me it's Oden because he had an excellent work ethic. The Blazers even had to stop him from going to the gym while injured because of the additional mass he was gaining.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

Re: Zion injury again
Always blows my mind think in 2019 Pels were holding the two highest valued assets in the NBA: 26yo in his prime Davis and super hyped #1 Zion. Pels also had 28yo Jrue Holiday and other ‘quality’ players. A few imagine ifs…
Imagine if Davis could have been talked into staying IF Pels traded Zion for a win-now player. Zion+ would have secured about anyone. A team of Davis, Holiday, and win-now player from Zion trade would have been one of the best teams in all NBA.
Imagine if Pels were scared of Zion injury history and traded #1 plus Ball for Morant plus JJJ. Morant in New Orleans could be even worse or maybe with such a better team out of the gate his career looks different too.

JJJ
Ingram
Holiday

Honestly AD was checked out in NOLA and wanted to be Robin to LBJ's Batman. I don't blame him for asking for a trade b/c every star sees KG as the cautionary tale of being too loyal to an incompetently run franchise and wasting your prime. I'm mad that he was only adamant about player and resigning for the Lakers, but w/e.
Morant and Zion are the poster children for every negative trait that you see with AAU ball. I'll never forget Kobe ripping AAU ball a new one for teaching poor fundamentals to these young dudes and letting them get away with whatever BS they can pull. If I had a 30 for 30, it'd be called dumb and dumber: The Zion and Ja chronicles of unfulfilled potential. Admittedly the title sucks, but man I'm so pissed off with these 2 morons who had god given talent to become potential faces of the league. Instead, one was too busy gorging himself to the point he made Charles Barkley look like Karl Malone (fitness wise, not the pdf stuff) while the other was too busy being Clarence from 8 mile.
If Zion had a Moses Malone type of player or a couple of strong willed vets along with the organization getting on him to lose weight and bully him a bit, maybe things would be different. Honestly, they should've jettisoned him when he was adamant about keeping his family for cooking. This bum got people fired because he deliberately wanted out of town and was willing to become the new age Boy Gorge in order to do so. I wish some of the vets could've gone out of their way to roast him by calling him a fat pussy toad and everything possible to light a fire under his worthless ass. Don't get me wrong, having 3 coaches in 4 years didn't help while having management scramble to make moves. Great players who truly have the desire to be great will overcome any form of BS in order to truly realize their full potential.
Morant makes me sick because the Grizzlies are one of the best run organizations in the league and sadly they pinned their hopes on Morant becoming what Derrick Rose should've been w/o injuries. Instead he acted like a suburban gangster with an idiot entourage including his Daddy running wild wanting to be young again. Morant needed a hard smack to the face for acting like a punk, but when you baby these dudes this is what you get.
Sorry if the rant went overboard mods, but it just sickens me to see players that have ability that 99% of the league just doesn't have to completely let it go to waste. The 2026 NBA draft will be the Pelicans' funeral as they watch one of the 3 generational talents go elsewhere. This organization truly has no idea what the hell they are doing and they would've been better off hiring anybody else but Dumars.

I been telling Hornets fans the same thing about LaMelo. The longer we keep him the more we are going to be forced to keep him.
6 years is enough proof that LaMelo can't stay healthy. You don't get healthier with age.

Cue the Dumars 'double-fisted phone' pic.
Also, as a Hawks fan, Joe D. gets my Exec o' the year vote. There's no requirement that your moves have to benefit the team that's paying you.
