On two occasions I thought Lebron played excellent defense in the 4th. However, it only looked that way because Kobe is passing the ball. Phil Jackson sat him down for shooting too much (bad move) and allowed Cavs to score 6 in a row.

Lebron took 32 shots against one of the weakest front-court defense (Odom, Walton, Brown) in the league. He basically ran a layup drill for himself the whole game. He only came out with 40 points though...

Yeah.... He shot 16-32. 50% clip. only reason he scored 41 was because he didn't make much 3's or got to the line 20 times like Wade does.

Lebron played fantastic. He completely overpowered Kobe and just played some great defense on him in the last quarter.

The funny part is LeBron played a Kobe like game today and Kobe played a LeBron like game.

Kobe is usually a high volume shooter that takes a lot of shots and ft's to put up big point totals, whereas LeBron James is more efficient and is more prone to get 30+ points 8 rebounds and 10 assists.

I'd say Kobe is a much better shooter, and LeBron James needs to keep improving that. Otherwise, I'd take LeBron as a much better overall player. Especially since his defense, and 4th quarter defense is becoming All NBA type of defense.

Kobe is still the best player in basketball, and that won't change until LeBron does something significant when it matters the most. Today's performance will remain in memory for a few days then fade away. However, 35-38% shooting in the Finals is an everlasting memory that I will never lose until LeBron gets back and has a better performance.

I don't even think this is a righteous discussion.

The better discussion is LeBron, Duncan, & Wade for #2.

That charge Larry Hughes took was off the screen that was set for Kobe to get around LBJ in which he spun into Larry Hughes.

Get your facts straight, guys. LeBron shut him down to 1 of 7 in that 4th quarter.

Okay, I've complimented LBJ enough for today, but all-nba type defense? No... Just no.

He's not even a top 5 defender at the small forward position:

- Bowen
- Prince
- Battier
- J. Howard
- Marion (well he plays PF most of the time)
- Butler
- G. Wallace
- Iguodala (I'd have to check whether he plays more SF or SG, I'm under the impression he's been playing more SF this season though...)
- Artest
- AK-47

First, I wouldn't even consider Wade in the same category with a Duncan or LeBron.

Second, we clamped down on LeBron in that finals. You can't blame that kid for shooting the way he did and trying to help his team win a championship.We were the best defensive team in the NBA last year, and we hounded LeBron James. Why ? because he has no supporting cast.

Keep in mind though, we won all four games by a total of 12 points.

If LeBron played a Phoenix or a Dallas in the finals, he would have had a field day.

They are on the same level, they have been for some time actually.

Btw, LeBron really didn't play some godlike game tonight, his jumper was off for most of the game and he had more turnovers than assists (for just third time in this season). He still dominated.

You're right. I must have been drinking so much haterade I missed all of the MVPs and Titles Kobe has been winning.
