The West is beating up the East. That's how the West is so much tougher. Every win against the East is so important because those are the only easy ones Western teams get.

Except teams on the West play teams on the West a lot more than they play teams on the East. And they're the only easy wins Western teams get? lol There are good teams in the East too. Fans of Western teams are ridiculous. Every other post in threads like this is about how the West is great and the East sucks so bad.

Every West game is a battle, whether it is Denver vs Portland, LA vs Phx, GSW vs San Antonio. Nothing is easy in the West.

The East? Besides Boston, Detroit, and Cleveland, every other team is a give-me. It is considered an upset if any of the other Eastern teams beat a playoff team in the West.

The only good teams in the east are Boston, Detroit, and Orlando. Name one other team in the east that you'd pick over any of the top ten teams in the west. Fans of western teams aren't the only ones mentioning this, it's being brought up on national games every week.

Yeah but look at Minnesota,Memphis,Seattle, and the LAC. their records are also horrible with the addition of the top 10 west teams beating up the east(besides bos and det) they are also beating up the lowest 4 of the Western Conference

Also, theres not gonna be a 60 win team in the West, Team A beats Team B and then Team B beats Team C and Team C beats Team A. so it kinda evens out and thats why there could be "10" 50 win teams in the West

That is why this is the best season for West fans in a long time. You get your more than fair share of interesting game. Except when you go on an East coast trip.

Competition makes teams better. You have stacked teams in the West looking to make moves to get that much better. You go out East and you have a team like Orlando pretty much saying were pretty good why do we need to make moves. If Cleveland can go to the finals we can go. Really how lucky is the East that the KG trade was made. If not would there even be a reason to watch.

I never said that there couldn't be. Of course there could be, but I'm saying there won't be. Mathematically, yea, but considering all the factors it won't happen. The top 9 Western teams (because that's basically what we're looking at) would all need to be really close in talent and clearly above the other 21 teams in the league for a 48 win team to not make it. That's not the case. A lot of the teams that have had good schedules so far are going to plummet.

They mentioned on TNT prior to the Cavs/Rockets game that Houston had one more win then Cleveland. Yet the rockets were in 9th place in the Western Conference and CLE was in 4th place in the east.

As thread starter I don't have any qualms with the current play-off setup. If we (Portland) can't be among the top 8 teams in the conference then we don't deserve to be in the playoffs. Realistically I don't think we'd have a chance of winning the championship this year anyways.

The disparity between East and West is massive this year which is indicated by both Houston and Portland being on a pace to break a record by three games!
