I strongly doubt that would be the case.

Joe Dumars and Michael Curry would still make Detroit be legit defensively.

^ As it will be. If Detroit wanted any part of Melo they would have drafted him. They saw him for what he is years ago. No need to make the mistake you avoided, five years later.

This is nothing more than a Denver reporter trying to stir up discussion.

I'm sure a lot of teams have eyed a lot of different players in the past. It doesn't mean a trade is going to happen. I think the only way a trade would happen is with Detroit trading away Maxiell, Amir Johnson and maybe Stuckey. Carmelo is a very good player but I don't think Detroit is willing to give all that up.

why all the Jason Maxiell love? The guy is the definition of mediocre. Good energy player, nothing more. 20 minutes a night off the bench, tops.

Piston's would have to break the bank for Melo. Two of Chauncey, Rip, or Prince, and maybe even a young talent or draft pick as well.

The Nets were eyeing Carmelo too. Look what that amounted to.

I bet the Hawks are eyeing Kobe. If I were Sam Presti, I'd be eyeing Chris Paul. Doesn't mean the teams who actually have those players are interested in trading.

As a Nuggets fan I'd do this blockbuster-

Camby, Melo, K-Mart

for

Billups, Dice, Sheed, Prince

We do it cause Detroit takes on Kenyons god awful contract and we make a run at the chip for a few years, 'till everyone dies from old age.

They do it cause they get Melo and the best defensive Center in the L, or atleast that's what we tell Joe D. Then they'll soon find out what many Denver fans have known for awhile. Camby= Overrated.

New line ups-

DENVER

C- Sheed
PF- Nene
SF- Prince
SG- AI
PG- Billups

Bench
JR
Kleiza
Dice
Najera
20th pick??

DETROIT

C- Camby
PF- K-Mart
SF- Melo
SG- Rip
PG- Stuckey

Maxiell
Amir
Rick Mahorn
Bill Laimbeer
???
???

What do u guys think?

Why do the Pistons give up 4 starters on a team that was 2 wins away from their 3rd finals in 5 years for 3 players from a Nuggets team that barely made the playoffs and managed to get swept?

so that makes it possible by itself?

If you didn't put Mahorn and Laimbeer on the bench we might think you were serious.

So Sheed/Prince

Or

Deng/Hinrich/Gooden

I think Chicago has better chances than Detroit.

Yeah I'm not serious but this Melo to every team in the league BS has to stop.

Teams don't trade 23 year olds with top 5 player potential for garbage.

Fast forward to five years from now (after which the Nuggets have had five early playoff exits or complete misses)...
