LBJ and Wade in the grand scheme of things are good guys. Never been in trouble with the law/drugs/guns etc...

Why? 'Ghetto' is a common word in Germany, many young Germans who come from poor neighborhoods say they come from the ghetto.
Maybe that's the main reason for the wrong interpretation of the German article? I think Americans say 'hood' instead of 'ghetto'.

I remember reading something about that back the 01 or 02, about some editor in Germany getting in trouble with the choice of words. Can't remember the details exactly, but anyhow, maybe I was wrong, I don't live in Germany and have never been to Germany.

Only a few words are connected to the Nazis and the only ones that are really sensitive about it are the jews.
For example, when a German coffee company used the slogan 'Each to his own [coffee]', the jews complained because that line was written above the entrance of the concentration camp Buchenwald.
Most Germans find this übersensitivity ridiculous, though.
