How do you know Kobe demanded this contract and the Lakers weren't the ones who offered it first?

Kobe made it known he was not taking a big paycut this summer.
The Lakers have consistently made decisions that are best for Kobe but not always best for themselves. There is not an organization in sports that says lets take our aging superstar coming off a career killing injury and make him the highest paid player in the sport.
Lets look what just happened here. A player coming off a major injury at 36 who has not played this year. Who was still signed for this year. Giving the Lakers complete flexibility to wait and see how Kobe came back. Then next summer structure a deal around what they could or couldn't do in free agency. Pretty much said screw that flexibility stuff lets just give Kobe another big deal. Almost as if they were afraid he was about to bolt. It makes zero sense for the franchise. It only benefits Kobe.

I don't believe in this we owe so and so player more money for what he has done. If that was the case the Bulls should still be giving MJ a check. If your going to pay Kobe to be the best player in the league then he has to be the best player in the league.
Just one more reason why Dwight made the right decision to bolt LA. The Lakers have tied themselves to Kobe more than any time in there history to one player. Don't want to sound like Nelly but he is the Lakers spoiled child and they continue to cater to whatever he demands. I heard the talk that Kobe would take a Duncan like deal. KG like deal. I had a feeling though Kobe would do what Kobe does. Send a message in his weird strange way. This message is that you guys have Lebron, Dwight, Durant, Harden, Paul ahead of Kobe on the top player list. I"m at the top of the highest paid list. IMO the Lakers have just signed up for bad to mediocre win loss records and the only reason to watch Laker games for the next 3 years will be see if Kobe can chuck up enough shots to catch Jabbar.
You have to consider the taxes though which are very high in cali

Because he 's a Lakers legend and they want him to retire a Laker. He helped bring 7 chips to the Lakers. How many teams even have 1 championship in 17 years?
He deserves to retire a Laker.

This year + the 2 years extension = 3 years
I guess they will still be a playoff team so no top10 1st round pick
So yeah you have at least 2 years of rebuilding to say the least
You can laugh as much as you want but the Clippers will own the place, lucky you they wont have any title except the Divsion banner to hang![]()

I mean, he has made 280 million in his career, and that is not counting all of the endorsement money he has made. I really do not think there is anyway fans can argue that.
ya, all players after they have reached 100 mil in their career should be restricted only to vet min and disobey all economic principle. After all, they are set for life and additional incomes are just pure greed, right?
