2014 NBA Playoffs: Toronto Raptors (3) vs Brooklyn Nets (6)

Probably will be the best series in the first round in the Eastern Conference. Nets are a veteran team but they're really old. Raptors are young and athletic and can play either at a fast or slow pace.

The key for the Raptors is to be able to push the pace a bit score quickly then get back on defense. If they can do that then they can take the series. Giving the ball to Valanciunas will be critical since he has an advantage there with the Nets playing a small lineup. Raptors should also have the rebounding advantage in this series.

The key for the Nets is keeping the pace at a stand still and force turnovers with their small lineup. Use there veteran experience to frustrate a young into making mistakes. Also all their veterans have to be firing on all cylinder since this Raptors team is very resilient and won't back down for a second. If the Nets can do that then they can win the series.

For me I think it's gonna be a long series going to 6 possibly 7 games. The Nets have experience but were a terrible road team this year, while the Raptors were a very good road team. I'm taking Raptors in 6 because they're younger more athletic and resilient.

It makes absolute sense. The Raptors have the biggest fanbase in this forum, the "Raps in 4" line is a RealGM legend and if that wasn't enough a mini-discussion about GoT popped up.

Interesting series. I'm gonna go Raps in 7 but I'm not super confident about it. Youth v. experience, faster pace v. slower pace, first time playoff coaches, lot of subplots here. I just think the Nets really tanked it late in the year and it will be hard to find a rhythm again. Then again, I don't trust that the raptors have defined go-to scoring roles in tight playoff situations. Take the home team I say

Raptors have one of the highest net ratings in the 4th quarter in the entire league. When we need a basket, the ball is in Lowry's hands unless the match-up dictates otherwise. This team has consistently delivered in the fourth quarter.
