The first half of his rookie year he shot 38%, 35%, 82%. Still not close to what he's shooting now.

I believe it was the first 10-20? Not really sure. Yes, this sample has been larger and it is longer into his career. I also haven't watched him much through his streak so I am not sure if there is anything observable that changed and has allowed him to improve. I really hope it isn't just a hot streak and reverts to the mean.

First 10 games: 10.2 ppg (46.3% FG, 47.1% 3FG, 69.0% FT), 7.9 apg (Note: came off the bench in all 10 games)

The biggest difference I see is in sample size/volume. As a rookie, he attempted just 1.7 3s per game, compared to just 3.0 3s in this last 30-game stretch. Also, had a 2.4:1 assist to turnover ratio in those first 10 games compared to 3.4:1 ratio in the last 30.

Knicks declined to give up an additional asset with Rose (btw Rose himself is not worth Rubio). Knicks made a mistake (unless Sota was asking for porzingas or an unprotected first). Rubio is way better and on team friendly contract. Plus i actually think he might be a good fit with the Zinger. Knicks should have added whatever minor asset that was needed.

It obviously depends on the asset. It obviously wasn't a 1st or KP, and if it was Hernangomez I would have said no too. If it was Baker, Holiday, or Kuz I would have done it. If it was O'Quinn I would have been hesitant.

Rubio would've been amazing for the Knicks if that trade went down. All that firepower/spacing around him with Melo, Porzingis, Lee, etc. He brings discipline & steady playmaking on offense to keep everybody happy, and also brings the defense they sorely need as well. He would've been a massive upgrade to Rose and I could've seen them making a serious playoff push if the trade went down. I guess a lot would've depended on how they used him. If they tried to shoehorn him into their system, then yeah, probably not. But if they handed him the keys and let him orchestrate, Rubio-Melo-Porzingis would've been filthy.

The biggest change is that Ricky Rubio is frequently hunting for his shot over distributing to his teammates; the change has been absolutely awesome to watch.

thats probably why they're still a bad team, if its even true, but they young...numbers say rubio is just a good player, his passing is among tops in nba but his scoring ability is just too poor...if you surround him with stars though, he can win kinda how rondo did

Their prospects for improvement next year look good, but they'll have to improve their defense. It's ranked 26th out of 30. Their off. has actually been fairly good ranked 10th.
But given the youth of the team, their already proven scorers/ballhandlers, lottery pick this year, they could be one of the most improved teams next year. I would bet, with all key players healthy, they should at least play .500 ball if not better.
