brooklyn doesnt have 3 ego maniac rookies who think they are gods and a cancerous locker room

its the complete opposite of boston... a bunch of humble young guys who worked hard to get a second chance to prove themselves.

Kyrie/Dinwiddie
DLo/Levert
Joe Harris/Prince
Tobias Harris/Pick 27
Jarrett Allen/Ed Davis/ Pick 31

edit: if they sign Tobi I believe the law states they must also sign Bobi, so add Boban to that roster

I would wait til Sean Marks is done before assuming what the roster will be.

sorry, wasn't assuming. I was just asking, if that was the hypothetical route they went - how would it do? We have months, need something to talk about

True. Being objective about it, I don't think we'd beat them. Got to see how the team would gel together as is by adding Irving, who should thrive in the Nets offense. Sean Marks needs to improve the front court depth if we are ever going to be able to hang with NBA finalists, right now Jarrett Allen is only 20 years old and too weak....that's what killed us all year, the lack of size up front.

Yep, the entire Nets young core are guys who have been passed over, run over, left behind and they all worked hard to become better players. Russell, LeVert, Dinwiddie, Harris...can't say enough about them. If Irving wants guys that want to win games, he's coming to the right team.

Not sure how they could sign both Irving and Tobias and be able to keep Dlo, Joe Harris and Diwiddie plus the picks.

Tobias Harris is going to pay the Nets for the honor of playing with them.

That trade makes full sense, don't need to speculate on some secret deal being in place. They used some non-lotto picks to dump a bad contract, get a good young player (T Prince), and give themselves a bunch of extra money to spend. They'll hope to lure in a max player with that $, if not they still can go after a bunch of other solid FAs in this class. Trade was a good gamble, that simple.

He was also unhappy playing in Cleveland going to the finals every year. Guy won't be happy wherever he goes.

boston was different...of course he was unhappy. he didnt want to be there and had 2 spend 2 years in a cancerous locker room with ego maniac young players htat accomplished nothing

Irving is the biggest egomaniac on the team. He is LeBron minus the skill. You guys will see this.

He isnt though... its rozier or tatun. you want to talk about "minus the skill" i think rozier shot 35% this year. yet he thinks he should be starting. Tatum thinks he is kobe and read too much of his own headlines and brown thinks he should be the teams #1 option. they all got huge heads over a couple playoff wins vs lower seeds. Kyrie had to hear all offseason how they didnt need him. how the kids are elite. then they all took a step back,

kyrie is a hall of fame all-nba player/.... he isnt lebron, but lebron is arguably the GOAT so thats should not be held against him

Hmm, Nets don't have much on the books (around $25-30m) but Russell's cap hold will be like $21m and Irving and Harris would be getting $32m-ish maxes. That's putting them a little up over the cap at best (not factoring in other cap holds), so it might not work that easily. Missing something?

Seems like a statement from someone who hasn't been paying attention to Kyrie these past couple years. He pretty clearly doesn't want to be in Boston now, but he pretty clearly was excited when he first got there, based on his press conference with Hayward. No one asked him to tell the fans he was going to re-sign before this season started, no one asked him to make a commercial with his dad acting like Boston was some kind of special place for him to continue his basketball career. Those are things Kyrie did on his own.

I think Kyrie is borderline more trouble than he's worth. Maybe he's exactly as much trouble as he's worth. But he's a pain in the ass, and nets fans are about to realize that
