They found that COVID-19 was detectable in aerosols for up to three hours, up to four hours on copper and up to 24 hours on cardboard. The new coronavirus can also last up to three days on plastic and stainless steel, the scientists concluded, adding the amount of the virus left on those surfaces decreases over time. Aerosols are solid or liquid particles that hang in the air, including fog, dust, and gas commonly used in medical procedures like ventilation and nebulizers.
---------
https://www.ibtimes.com/coronavirus-airborne-covid-19-survives-air-new-study-reveals-2941967
new scientific study showing SARS-CoV-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2), the mutation that causes COVID-19, can remain alive while airborne for up to three hours is being questioned as misleading. aka people are thinking it isn't airborne.

I could go on but I am really not interested in doing the research. it's out there for those smart enough to look for it. I hope you are one of them

That last link states it can only stay airborne under laboratory conditions. Therefore it can't stay airborne in any natural conditions on earth.

Wrong here is the verbiage you missed about the facts within the article:

"The JAMA study that came to this conclusion was conducted in Singapore. To assess the ability of the virus to survive in the air, researchers developed what one expert described as “bizarre experiments done under very ideal controllable experimental conditions.” Researchers used a rotating drum to suspend the aerosols, and provided temperature and humidity levels closely simulating hospital (and not real world) conditions. Dr. Marr commented the experimental setup might be less comfortable for the virus than a real-life setting."
= the controlled lab environment was less likely to reveal airborne than the real world is and still revealed it

Wouldn't "very ideal controllable experimental conditions" mean they were ideal for the virus to stay airborne? Ideal as in better than anywhere else. I assume they weren't trying to create ideal conditions for killing the virus because that would be dumb.

WHO Doctor pretends his feed is messed up after being asked about Taiwan, then refuses to answer as not to upset China, incredible timeline we're living in.

This shouldn't be a surprise. Taiwan (or the Republic of China as its official name) isn't a member of the WHO -> https://www.who.int/choice/demography/by_country/en/

It isn't a member of the United Nations either. It used to be a member (it was in fact one of the original members) but then the PRC got the upper hand in international diplomatic relations and it effectively replaced the ROC as of UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations_General_Assembly_Resolution_2758

Only 14 out of 193 UN nations recognize the Republic of China as a sovereign country. This is a total list of countries that recognize the Republic of China (and note that some of them aren't in the UN either):

Belize, Guatemala, Eswatini (formerly known as Swaziland), Haiti, Honduras, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Nicaragua, Palau, Paraguay, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Tuvalu and the Vatican City.

As you can see, not exactly the most powerful nations in the world.

So, yeah, I'm not surprised that the doctor in that video refused to name Taiwan. His organization literally doesn't recognize that it's a sovereign state. They view it as a region of China which is why he talks about all regions of China when he's asked a second time.

I really wish that in times like these we could push politics aside but, unfortunately, this isn't the world we live in.

Well in their defense; testing on dead bodies found that way is probably not a high priority.

That being said - it's probably safe to assume the vast majority are COVID-19 related.

You would think that an anesthesiologist and an internist would know more about these precautions. It sure feels like those guys are making recommendations at lib.

Most hospitals have mandated the use of masks just this past week which is really pathetic. Hospitals, government, and a ton of people in the States have been non-nonchalant about this pandemic.

Got some clarity on the White House model and that Univ of Washington model.

Birx said (in today's virus task force briefing) she and Fauci went back recently and revamped their model. And basically the data they came up with, the projections, were the same that the UW guys came up with.

So even though the virus task force may not be working with the UW guys, they seem to be mapping things out the same way. Thus, the UW model could be the one that gives the best prediction of how the White House is going to act on this.

Of note, the current assumption in the UW model is continue social distancing hard until end of May. Right now the White House has committed to this until the end of April.

The "morons" are isolating retirement houses on purpose to protect the eldest as much as possible and the death toll will be updated laters since obviously before considering people died from covid19, they have to be tested. Anyway as mentioned by someone else, the full "stats" can be obtained elsewhere, but we are talking of France and Italy who don't really spend their time hiding 'real' statistics so that. Let's say we have plenty of work already
Yes, Mr Smart, there are people who are still dying from something else than Covid19. I know it's hard to believe it though, especially from old people.

So i will sum up : patients calling emergency service => check up with a qualified doctor => hospital if serious contamination probabilty => TEST => if test is positive, appropriate treatment/care
The whole rest of the population incl. the eldest will be tested later to limit contacts with oustide as limited as possible. they just try to isolate people who are showing symptoms for now.

Here in Europe our eldest are still precious and respected. I understood from many messages here that it's not necessary the case everywhere. /Irony off

First we make changes to Western industrial animal farming, then you put political and economic pressure on China to do the same. That's the best way to achieve change. Lots of companies have already chosen not to accept any product that comes out of Xinjiang.

Absolutely disgusting, but not surprising. The media has largely given China a pass here. This will happen again at some point.

Someone who cannot yet post on the general board sent me a message regarding the context of that UW model I have mentioned in a few posts today. That user felt that this tweet thread (by a bio professor, I think it is) may be useful in understanding the UW model:

I have not studied the model or this tweet thread in depth, and am not an expert in bio, viruses or modeling, so I can't really comment about it in any expert way. But, I hope this information may help others.
