Windhorst: If Giannis doesn't sign a Supermax, AD will sign a 1+1 deal in order to recruit Giannis to Lakers next year

Honestly, I'm sick of the NBA and Superteams. Silver does what he wants WWE style. I'm not a fan of the Bucks, but was annoyed about the Bogdan thing. Not because what the Bucks did what was right, but because LeTamper and Klutch sports have reign. I mean how is Klutch sports not a conflict of interest? I'm just ready for Lebron to retire in hopes that the NBA gets back to competitive basketball and quit the join your friends era where we out-talent because we scared of playing... There is nothing wrong with original Cleveland Lebron wanting some more talent, but the Heatles, the rejoin of Cavs, and tampering with AD is super annoying. Then the Durant Warriors happened and it has been sawwwwwwwwwwwft ever since. Harden trying to force way to Nets, etc.... Who knows in the future - maybe it will be one dream team versus another - why even have a league if it will come down to 1 or 2 teams every year barrring injuries. Hope Giannis does not go to Lakers/Nets...

Wherever he decides to go (or stay) Giannis is going to have at least 4 legit options as far as teams he could win a title with. It’s going to be real interesting to see what he does.

My money is still on him signing the super max extension.

Oh lord, Giannis-watch is going to be ten times worse than Kawhi-watch isn't it?

People acting like LeBron is going to play into his 50s... It'll be Lebron/AD/Giannis, for a couple more peak LeBron years, and then it'll become AD/Giannis, with Lesser-LeBron in some form or another... MJ played until he was 40... I think that's the magic number for LeBron and he wants to play a season or 2 with his son in the league...

Luka/Giannis/KP should be a great combo for several years.

No it wouldn't. He'll be 36 by the time Giannis' signature dries. If joining Wade and Bosh in Miami hasn't bothered you why would this now?

Because he was the best player amongst Wade and Bosh and he never get carried to his two titles in Miami. Not saying Giannis and AD will carry him but when we get to that Jordan/LeBron debate Jordan fans will have a field day putting an asterisk on his titles with Giannis and AD. That would really make sense of what Jordan said about not wanting to join Larry and Magic to win because Giannis and Davis are both elite.

Bosh was never a top 3 player in the NBA at that moment it was LeBron,Wade, and Kobe.

Wow didn't see that one....
This is LeBron the GM at work - he is not messing around.

He knows he has to win 6 to deal with the Lebron vs MJ arguments.
He's at 4 and he can smell it.You know he wants 7.

He's going to do whatever it takes to eliminate the competition and then win his 7th ring with Bronny Jr playing by his side in LA

This is how he one ups MJ in his mind.
It's like his own real life Space Jam come true. Filming this has got to have him obsessing with his legacy vs MJ

Imagine that - the 2 best players fresh off a title in LA extend a hand to you out in freezing MIL
You can't turn that down.

3rd or 4th time now he completely changes the landscape of the NBA
Take that MJ!

Windy knows how LeBron thinks, he's been studying him closely for over 10 years.

Hoping this happens for my Lakers. LeBron can’t play like this forever. This won’t be like GSW where all players are In their prime, We will essentially have 2 superstars and a aged LeBron on his last legs. Giannis would be a great replacement for LeBron to keep the Dynasty going!

And no it’s not lame or pathetic, this would be great for the league.

Lakers have a good chance of repeating. Giannis joining them would be criticized to no end no matter how you want to spin it. Take off your Lakers homer goggles off for a minute and you'd understand that it is lame and pathetic. It would only be good for the Lakers and that's it.

What else can they do to help small markets teams while still having a free agent type of market? The NBA has already been implementing rules and regs that favor small markets for years.

That's the biggest piece of bologna. It favors superstar players and if possible, big markets. Bogdan being blocked while LeTamper and AD happened. The only thing I've seen the NBA do to favor small market teams are high draft picks to struggling small markets and blocking the Chris Paul trade to Lakers. Reffing is pretty spotty when it comes to star players too....

Meh, no different than celtics big 3 joining in 2007. Its going to be a 37 year old Lebron and AD. Adding someone who continuously fails in the post season and can't shoot isn't that great. Better off find 3 very good role players.

LeBron got carried in the 2011 finals and it was the biggest single player choke in NBA history. So no not carried in the finals wins, but he got carried in 2011 and still couldn't win.

LeBron's rep will take a hit if Giannis joins LA. He'd be "Mr Superteam" far worse than KD, who was inspired by LeBron. If Giannis joins LA, the league is basically a waste of time to watch.

If this were true, why didn't Winderhorst tweet this info from his own Twitter account? Both tweets in the OP are from non-verified accounts.

So injury prone AD is willing to risk over $100m in guaranteed money so he doesn’t have to be the man?

isn't this the very definition of insecurity? let's all gang up together so we don't have to play against each other.

LeBron is like Floyd Mayweather who doesn't want to fight opponents on their prime. Adam Silver and the Lakers have been in bed since the LeBron trade.

I know this sounds hypocritical coming from a Warriors fan after the KD experience, but I don't think it would be good for the league.

Ratings are better when there are at least 2 strong teams that can compete with one another especially during the championships. After the Lakers just had one of the most amazing off-seasons in recent memory, I think it would be better for the league if Harden went to the Nets and Giannis went to the Heat. If the Clippers can somehow upgrade their team as well then you will have 4 super teams in the league for the next few years that can all compete for a championship.
