Surprised that you're trashing him given that he thoroughly outplayed LaMelo in both games.

I am not trashing him, but at 22.5 years of age he should be better in preseason then a 19 year old, LaMelo has flashed 10x the talent level that Flynn has so far so not worried about that. Flynn can shoot it a bit for sure, but he looks a lot like Monte Morris 2.0

Again think Raptors did a great job landing a rotation player late in the first, but redraft tomorrow and he still is not a lottery pick.

how did that turn out for FVV, OG? Keep doubting Masai who is a god.
and flynn the scrub according to you outplayed Ball multiple games so badly he almost cried. not every prospect sucks bc of age.
Theres a reason why Raps, Bulls, Miami GMs are top of the food chain and Hornets are bottom.
Funny you mention Flynn busted but 5pts in 4 attempts while dishing 5 assists in 10minutes is a great performance translating to 15/15/3 steals per 36. I had Ball as my top prospect but after falling to the wrong franchise, im 99% sure he will bust out.

Raptors have drafted 1 allstar in last 10 drafts...kings of finding good role players. Flynn will be a solid role player. 95/100 Gms would trade Flynn for Ball as of today.

OG is a solid find, but he is a 4th option on a playoff team. Lamelo almost cried? What are you talking about? Lol

I like Flynn, not a scrub but he also isn’t a guy I would pick in lottery even after seeing preseason.

Not really. His passing is better, especially when you account for flash and his rebounding due to size. But outside of that Flynn is the better floor general in the sense that he knows how to run a team, he's a better shooter than LaMelo and the defense isn't even close. I would bet money that in 3 years if we do a redraft, Flynn is in the top 10.

This really isn’t even a debate man. Flynn is solid but Ball could be a franchise player.

In the last 10 drafts that they've had a pick? They've drafted 2 All Stars in Siakam and DeRozan. They didn't have a pick in 2013 or 2018.

I'd guess first team:
Okoro- 2 points tonight on 1/5 shooting
Toppin 6 points on 2/5 shooting in 27 mins tonight
Avdija
Campazzo 3 points on 1/5 shooting in 15 mins tonight
Wiseman

2nd Team:
Ball
Vassell
Edwards
Williams
Haliburton

Only guys I feel confident on for 1st team are Toppin and Okoro think they have clearly defined roles they can excel at day-1.

Any chance you were making these predictions based on 2 preseason games too much?

They have talent, fit with their teams, and have defied roles with an easy roadmap for 20-30 minutes from day1. Considering I put a guy who hasn’t even played on the first team I think it’s pretty clear it was more based on fit/talent/opportunity than anything else. I still like these picks now.

Campazzo is behind both Murray and Morris as the oldest rookie, not sure I see that one.

Pat Williams looks solid, but his love for taking mid range jumpers is a head scratcher.

IQ is the man. He gotta work on his defense. But damn he looks impressive. He's making Knox look like a competent player.

Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Bro the Malachi Flynn meme is definitely my favorite part of preseason, especially how it became a meme on reddit too

I heard on the Dunc'd on Podcast they were saying that Edwards simply has to get used to the NBA game, to understand how to score. I agree. His athleticism and speed would put him in the top 5% of the league. I expect him to boost his FG% as he learns to find his spots in the NBA game. Contrast with Ball who spent time in a pro league already....

..still waiting on Emmanuel Mudiay to figure that out.

F it, I feel really vindicated by some of the prospects I liked so far that weren't so popular in the draft. Obviously preseason is its own thing and these guys might not translate, but ....

babyjax13 wrote:Our announcer (David Locke) loved Quickley and had him as a late first round prospect when he was still being mocked in the mid/end of the second round. I think he's tapped into the NBA pretty well and new he was rising on draft boards. I like him, I think he'll be a nice two-way player. Kind of a poor man's Gary Harris on defense and a nice spot-up and off the bounce shooter on offense who can move the ball and get the 'assist to assist' type plays like Smart is so good at.

Looks to have even more ability to run the point than I gave him credit for.

I watched Poku last night vs. the Bulls. Poku was amazing to watch. He could quite the steal for OK. I can't believe that OKC outplayed our starters and our 2nd string. That was super sad.

Whenever I watch Anthony Edwards I honestly get Joe Johnson vibes.

From the body, athleticism, shooting, and most of all his demeanour on the court.

Take that as you will. I’m not saying he can’t be better than Joe, but there’s far worst things than to be compared to a 6-8 guard with 20,000 career points and 7 allstar appearances.
