I might have misssed the defending of Jaxson...I wouldn’t defend him after seeing the video...but u sure as hell don’t think these cops did a great job either.
The first objective should have been to find the woman that was allegedly in danger. Seems like when Jaxson got mouthy they got handsy...he ramped it up they ramped it up...they kept trying to one up each other and then drew the taser and threatened his boy for videoing the incident.
I think the only smart person in the whole exchange was jaxsons boy who went straight for....”go get your girl so we can close this out quick”. If Jaxson would have listened to that, who knows how this would have gone. But when Jaxson raised his voice one cop had to put hands on him...which escalated the issue. Bad all around-
Has anyone heard if the girl was hurt?
Both parties could have handled it better. Of course.
But remember, police can’t police from their heels, they must police from their toes. Their job is dangerous and the environment today extremely toxic.
We see this video through the lens of not on our toes, not even on our heels, from on our but and behind the screen. Our “should of” “could of” “would of” is highly skewed.
One hope would be these cops and their respective department use this encounter as training to be better next time.
Other hope is Hayes, and any other citizens that wants to follow his footsteps (desire to be victimized by blue), see this and JUST DON’T — they too learn to be better when/if they interact with authorities.
I don’t remember that ‘Police can’t police from their heels’ because I don’t know what that means. Police are just citizens with jobs like doctors and Refs and nba players. If we want something different from the profession, we have to demand it.
In this situation, Jaxson was an @$$ and some of the cops were unprofessional. People being people.
Today’s environment is no different than it has been since the beginning of civilization. The government is the people and then the government over reaches and the people complain, rebel and rise up....
We are still in the complain stage...(2a is reserved for the rebel and rise up)
This environment you call toxic in America is less toxic than most governments relationships with the citizens on earth and for all time.
As long as people can learn to not take sides, swallow biases and demand what we want vs constantly defending the less than idea situation we have.
