NBA Preseason Game Thread 2021

I'm just here to say that Jordan Poole looked very very very sure of himself that he's an NBA player and he's better than a lot of other NBAers. He looks like he think he's a star, and with a jumper like his, whos to blame him. Someone's gonna pay him and pay him well if GSW don't do it first. Was he a 2nd or 1st round pick??? When is his deal up?

Apparently jordan poole has been working extremely hard every off season, organizing the roleplaying teammates to practice too. Its paying off. Clearly it also helps practicing next to guys like klay and curry. He seems like he wants to excell at the 30 footers too.

Man the warriors in a few years might be a great team to watch if they develop

Every team lives and dies by their best player to some extent. But if you'd watched last night (which I imagine you prob didn't since you were watching your Raps game), that would have been an odd takeaway. Jaylen was the one who came out hot and did most of the scoring last night. And the ball was zipping around much more than last year's team, which is the main focus of our new coach. And the C's are much deeper with competent vets now. So I'd actually expect us to live and die by Tatum less so than previously.

It'll be interesting to see if Tatum can break into the no doubt superstardom tier this season.

I sure hope so! Obviously haha. I mean I already think of him as a superstar but yeah hopefully he takes another step this year and is seen that way universally. He looked noticeably stronger and wider in the shoulders last night and had a couple big boy finishes at the rim that he prob couldn't have done in the past. That's been an area of potential improvement for him, finishing through contact and getting to the line more. And he has a great mindset and keeps adding skills to his bag, so I'm excited.

Hey congrats on Scottie btw. He looks awesome. I love his spirit, size and confidence. A guy every team would love and he has lots of upside.

I think Tatum needs to have a +7 and over pts to shot ratio to get there, that along with what else he does.

Essentially If the player shoots 20 shots a game they need to score 27+ points a game.

A +5 difference is usually All Star level.


Thing is though there are players like Zach Levine, Bael, who are better scorers last year than Tatum but I hesitate to say are remotely close to the Superstar level.

And then there's Trae Young who's a multi faceted offensive weapon but the question of defense makes you wonder where he is on the spectrum.

It's sometimes difficult to quantify who's a superstar but I guess the old adage of you know when you see it holds true.


As for Barnes, atm he's probably some type of Draymond/Marcus Smart hybrid atm that has the intangibles those players have but also the shooting touch as well.

This is also probably another indirect shot at Simmons because even bad/poor shooters can have good shooting seasons but you won't know until you try.
