Honestly why would he even want to opt in when he knows that majority of Laker nation has turned on him? Regardless of who coaches this team next season there is no way he’s vindicating himself. And it’s clear that not having the fans support is taking an emotional toll on him. Just go try your luck elsewhere.

With 40 mil he can get good conseling- opt in cause that money will never be available to him again. At this point he can’t afford to opt out, get brought out and hope to recoup that cash. He should opt in, play his best (again) and be proud of himself. If he had a coach that could talk to him and say - “no Russ” Maybe he could enjoy next season.

The way i read this: you're putting yourself out there (digitally) to say your professional career to Russell Westbrook wouldn't be disappointing compared to the decisions he's made.

Im sure your professional career is better than his.

Someone already posted his basketball references link. It's also worth noting he was voted by someone to the NBAs top 75 list (historically, in his profession, recently, regardless of 1 season).

You see, son - life isn't all about being a success in your career. It's about being a good human being and acting in a respectful, respectable way. John Wooden would tell you the same thing, and that's what the poster is getting at when he says "UCLA grad". All you see is career success, but that's way down the hierarchy of importance. I have more respect for a regular guy who works hard and provides for his family, while acting in a respectful way than I do for some millionaire manchild who says reprehensible things in public and walks around in women's clothes. You need to reassess how you look at your life and who you idolize.

To play the devil's advocate here. Alot of millionaires do charity for PR and tax breaks. I am sure he is doing alot of it from the goodness from his heart, but he's also shown that he's a narcissist manchild.

As someone who was raised by one, Westbrook comes across as a grade-A narcissist.

He’s a guy who only does things HIS way & when things don’t go well, everyone else involved is at fault.

People like that believe that everything they do is justified & if you don’t agree, then you just don’t understand.
