It's Jokic (by a mile) so far

watching the two man game with WB (yes, WB!) made me realize Murray had about 200 million reasons to thank Nikola

I know they've been playing all their careers together and they're close etc but Nuggets should really trade Murray :)

Friendly reminder that, without the Embiid debacle a couple seasons ago, we’d be discussing a certain centre going for their 5th straight trophy this season lol.

Tatum is somehow the second most efficient volume scorer to Davis this season thus far lolol

When the Cavs lose the 1 seed to Boston, it's Tatum's to lose. A 30ppg season with that kind of efficiency and the narratives here all but guarentee it imo.

Objectively? It's Jokic though. I won't compare him to peak Miami LeBron, but Jokic is the best player we've seen since then.

I'd take his offense over second Cleveland stint LeBron, and peak Curry.

Trade Murray for what? He is honestly a negative asset at this point.

Idk how it can't be Jokic right now. I know their record isn't great but the team has suffered a ton of injuries and his numbers and impact are undeniable.

Tatum (Mitchell & SGA to lesser extent) suffer from the fact that the teams are so well rounded.

AD and Luka round out my top 3 right now.

Jokic is near MJ level, touched by God's hand, no other way to explain it.

Right now it's Jokic and it's not that close. Anyone arguing otherwise is deluding themselves. He's filling up the boxscore - top 5 in ppg, rpg and apg - is 1st in VORP, and has incredible raw impact on/off stats.

Curry won't win it

What are the arguments against him?

Curry isn’t winning it. Go ruin some other thread.

You seem to think that people enjoy reading posts that lack substance and kill brain cells.

Sorry but that isn’t the case.

100%

btw, "top 5" is kind of underselling it as he's currently #1 in both RPG and APG, obviously he won't end up as first in both (if he somehow managed to that, he'd be the first player ever to accomplish that unlikely feat) but that's pretty good, i'd say :)

What I don't get is how Jokic gets an MVP and then we think, OK he has to clearly surpass his performance to win an MVP again next year. And every single year he has done that. How does a guy who has been the best player in the league for so long actually continue to get better? WHEN WILL IT END?

Gotta give this to Embiid until he finally plays a game and shows us otherwise.

It's hilarious you can get odds on him winning the MVP year after year. It's sad I don' tput my money where my mouth is on this, and that I don't have money.

One cause for concern. Jokic is shooting 53.7% from 2's. Which is his worst season ever (so far) even worse than his rookie season. Mostly likely he will get back up though.

this is his 10th season and he's 29, he'll turn 30 this February so this is basically peak Jokic we're seeing

Jokic, AD, SGA, Mitchell and Tatum are the only serious contenders right now

On the numbers Giannis is right there but you can’t have 2 wins lol

Bud winning COTY is more likely than Durant winning MVP.
