Is he washed up or was he just never THAT good?

He's never made an all star team and it's not like he's ever been "snubbed" for it. He's just never played a season at that level. He was awesome in the bubble and awesome during their title run year. In his other playoffs, he's been the same sub-all star level player he's been across his 8 year career.

I don't think he's washed up, I think he just built a reputation based on a couple of small sample size playoff runs that aren't in any way shape or form indicative of the player he actually is night in and night out over the long haul.

At this point is there a contract worse than him in this league? A vet min player like Westbrook outperforms him.

4/12 today. 12 points. Getting absolutely roasted by anybody on defense. Doesn't matter if it's a star or a role player, they will have their way with him.

How many teams starting PGs would you have to go through before you can confidently say that you would rather have Jamal Murray as your starting PG?

No because what he is right now is a shell of his former self from last season. Not compared to the 2023 playoffs or the bubble playoffs. I’m talking about last SEASON. If he was merely his normal 21pts 4reb 5ast on 47/40/85 shooting nobody would care. The problem is he’s taken a significant step back from his normal regular season production.

It's December.

You deal with Murray for what he becomes in the playoffs, which is superstar tier. You want Westbrick over that?

People seem to forget that Denver won the title and Murray was a huge reason why. Did he play above his head? Probably. He is what he is. A Bradley Beal level player. A guy you want on your team but the contract is a problem.

Imagine still believing in this “Playoff Murray” nonsense. It’s called a small sample size, folks.

He’s a mediocre player who got unsustainably hot for a couple series. That’s it. Paying him $200 million with the expectation that he can do that on command is one of the dumbest moves in NBA history. It’s how a 10 year old fan with a Jamal Murray jersey would run the team.

Now he’s lost a step and we’re stuck with a $200 million paper weight.

If Booth called up Phoenix and offered Murray for Beal straight up, they would laugh and hang up the phone.

That’s how bad Murray has been.

People saying that he deserves the contract he got cause they won a championship. Realistically, how many guards can you put in Murray's place and still have won the whole thing?

Where was playoff Murray last season when he played like Kwame Brown?

Only possible worse contact is Bumbiid i guess cause he can't even play and will choke in the playoffs again.

I'd still keep Murray, at his worst he is still the better defender.

At his worst he looks like he can barely play even 3 minutes without getting tired. Dude has a below average motor even at his best.

Yeah, we are just on different levels of our being down on Beal. I just think he makes any team with a playoff hope worse. A true tank commander. Though you could sell me on him off the bench as i say this.

Probably 15 guards, but I don’t have the time to look up all the guards

At least Beal is a legit NBA athlete. He could average an efficient 20 ppg just cutting and playing off of Jokic.

Murray can’t even do that. He was never all that fast to begin with, and now it looks like he’s playing with concrete sneakers. He looks physically overmatched even against scrubs.
