It’s hard not to be excited if you’re a Lakers fan.

Yes the dodgers have no salary cap in their respective league but what puts them on the top is their A-Game to be ahead of everyone within scouting, analytics, etc…

Just forward thinking stuff. In the short term, it won’t mean much plus it’s a different league. But in the long term it’ll mean a lot. Ballmer has to be fuming rn now that the nepo kids aren’t in power anymore. At worst, Lakers are just now catching up to the rest of the league, at best they utilize the team’s frankly *gifts* to reach its maximum potential.

Jeanie has spent for stars over the years but it was clear Lakers were a notch below everyone else within the margins, the little things like not having a big analytical department and having the rambis’s having influence within the group. This article from May says TWG is backed by Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund.

Mubadala Capital, the asset management branch of Abu Dhabi’s sovereign wealth fund, is anchoring a $10 billion investment as part of TWG Global’s $15 billion equity raise.

In return, TWG has bought a 5% minority stake in Mubadala and has agreed to invest $2.5 billion into its products. Eventually, they plan to invest $20 billion.
