As a Laker fan...

Round One vs. Denver: I felt we were going to win the series, I didn't think it was going to be a sweep, but I thought we would somewhat convincingly win.

Round Two vs. Utah: I thought it was going to be more difficult than Denver, and that Utah could possibly win.

Round Three vs. San Antonio: I'm worried, I think San Antonio is probably going to edge us out, but I think it is possible to win.

Why do people keep getting this wrong? Gasol IS NOT going to try to go one on one in the post against Duncan, The only thing Gasol will primarily be doing against duncan in the post is looking for shooters and cutters. Pau Gasol will be getting his points off of missed rotations due to excellent passing and penetration by the Lakers. THATS how he killed Okur and Camby. And one more thing, Gasol will be running alot, so Gasol will be getting many fastbreak opportunity dunks as well..anyone remember the last game we played against the Spurs?? And the Spurs "Frontline" isn't tougher or more physical for that matter than the Jazz, The Spurs also have no consistent shotblocker and no bench. The Lakers will more than likely punish that frontline. I don't expect Duncan to play as poorly as boozer, but I don't expect him to play great either, especially on the road, I know for sure that Pau's length will indeed bother him, and Duncan's passing ability and decision making will be tested as wll in the post when he gets doubled hard.

Do you know what a paragraph is???

How can you say the Spurs front line isn't any tougher than the Jazz. They have a perennial member the defensive 1st team. The Spurs are among the best defensive teams every year. How can you say that??? Duncan and Thomas won't let Gasol get deep position on them.

When Lakers double team Duncan, he'll pass out of the double team. In games 3, 4, 6 and 7, the Spurs players hit their outside shots... If the likes of Udoka, Finley and Ginobilli hit their shots, the Spurs will take it in 6..(Duncan will dominate either by scoring or assists.)

I wouldn't be surprised if they put Bowen on fisher. Fisher is TO machine if he feels pressure. He feels the need to get a foul of aggressive defense and does some stoopid shi*. And considering he's been consistently good for us since Jazz and shootin lights out.

The Jazz defense is a joke.. All they do is foul.. Kobe will have his 40pts, but everyone else will be contained.

He meant they are tougher as in more physical. Duncan/Thomas/Oberto are not physically tougher and more physical than bangers like Boozer and Millsap.

I think this is a good analysis. This is the 1st WCF in 6 years that I've felt could go either way.

I don't think they'd risk putting Manu/Finley on Kobe.

Spurs have lost a step. Difference between NO and LA is they proved they could win in a hostile environment on the road. I expect the Lakers to win in 6. Spurs had to fight through a grueling 7 games. And have a short turnaround. I like LA.

I expect to see Lamar Odom try his luck against Duncan.

I also expect to see the Lakers exploit either Oberto or Thomas with either Odom or Gasol (depends on who Duncan guards).

I think the Lakers pull this one out in 6, on the road, in San Antonio.

This is going to be a rough, physical series that has the potential to be one of the best playoff series of all time. I'm so excited for this.

I'm almost 100% sure that Manu will be guarding Kobe at least a little bit in the series (few minutes here and there)... IIRC he usually guards Kobe in spots, with Udoka/Finley guarding him in other spots, then the majority its edward-bowen-hands.

You really think Phil is going to play him more than spot minutes?

I think so. If Vade doesnt come to play this series Phil is going to bench him. Also, Phil loves Ariza's on the ball defense.

It used to be the key to guarding Kobe was to not let him get going. The Spurs would make the mistake of taking Bowen off him and letting him find his range. So even when Bowen came back Kobe was unstoppable. Now he's more willing to defer to his teammates so Bowen will have something else to thinkg about.

He meant they are tougher as in more physical. Duncan/Thomas/Oberto are not physically tougher and more physical than bangers like Boozer and Millsap

I guess, but I'm not sure how being physical is more meaningful than playing great defense. Maybe I should have chosen my words more carefully.
