A little much for a backup who won't even play 15mpg. If he played 25mpg it would be perfect. But since we have Dwight we can't play Gortat any more than we did last season.

That said it is a good pure basketball move (if it is true). Been a fan of Gortats game since we got him. He is not as athletic as we were led to believe but he is tall, strong and mobile. He is a fantastic rebounder and better than average defender. He is a double threat defensively at the basket since he is a very capable shotblocker but also steps in and takes charges.

Oh, and Cavs fans are a joke. Let them try to twist these things to help them sleep better at night. The Magic and Celtics both have more talent top to bottom on their rosters than the Cavs could dream of. And the rumors are that Barnes and Wafer want to join the Magic. Magic sign either one of those and thats just more talent.

Thats actually pretty funny. I've not heard or seen anything new so I'm guessing we will find out tonight at the Magic's scheduled press conference. I still know what I saw. Where are all the nervous Celtic fans in this thread that all the ORL fans are refrencing?

That's about the 5th time I've seen that comment and I've only seen one other Celtic poster, who was posting something completely unrelated to the topic.

Although I am having a good time reading how CLE magically matches up better against Carter rather then Hedo because Carter is more talented, agile, better playmaker, has a huge verticle more experienced number one and Hedo has 4 inches on carter without the ability to jump and never plays in the post....

But before ORL fans go calling out BOS fans as nervous when we haven't said anything.

Remember your getting a lot better from signing a backup Center. Your franchise player now has to go through Perkins and Sheed against the Celtics every minute he plays.

I don't see any nervous Boston fans either. Its all Cavalier fans. I'm still nervous about Boston although I feel we match up much better with them now then we did last year.

Look OP, I'm not trying to rag on you and I'm not really trying to call you specifically a liar or a bad person but it DOES seem fishy and I'm really skeptical on your source as anybody could've called the Bass signing (plus, I hear he called it once and then had to retract it because it didn't happen until much later). I don't know what's going on or if you or your source is legit (and both of you might be or maybe you really did see it and aren't pulling our legs) but it seems very strange that over 12 hours after the local news "reported" the resigning, they won't re-report their "breaking news." I hope you can see why I'm being suspicious and I apologize for the petty argument earlier as it really doesn't add anything to this thread.

So basically this all started because some guy( without a link) claimed this would happen due to inside sources? Lets be honest people, this is the internet where credibility is scarce. This isn't to crucify the OP, but how many people have come onto this sight claiming to have "inside information" only to rile up people. Does it make sense for the Magic to hold onto Gorat..depends on how you look at it. but I won't believe he is coming to the Magic or the Mavs until I see it. For now, it is all here say.

I see where you are coming from and apologize likewise. I did see it on the news, however and a couple friends have confirmed seeing it too. This could be a massive journalistic failure on the part of WKMG and if thats the case I will apologize to the whole RealGM universe and eat my crow accordingly

This seems like a prank designed to show the reactions of Magic fans contrasted with their prior reactions to Gortat leaving and to Varejao's extension.

Scrubs become excellent backups, terrible overpayments become astute asset retainments. And vice versa, depending on which team they've signed on with. :lol:
