I see All-stars in his future. But will always be a second/third tier star. Josh Jacks: Future MVP. Anthony Davis-esque. Calling it now.

Josh Jackson_??
You mean Jarren Jackson I guess. Josh Jackson is already a bust.

Good catch  I should get a warning for confusing those two.

Luka will never be the best athlete in this draft class, but he will always be the smartes and the most skilled player IMO.

The same limitations that Luka has with his athletic ability, the other guys have with their smarts and skill.

That was always my pick, Luka for ROTY and JJJ for ultimately best in his class in a few years.

There has always been a ton of Mvp players without elite athleticism. It's good to have, but not neccessary to be an elite player. Harden, Curry, Paul, Dirk, Duncan, you name it. None of them have never been elite athletes. I'd take Duncan with his smarts over someone like AD 100 out of 100 times.

I'm actually quite the opposite.

The Mavs are a good, balanced team and a bunch of other players are doing well, even their bench players. Not taking anything away from Luka, but this is the ridiculous thing not the pass in the video above - putting all the credit for team success on one player.

I think it's still inconsistent at this point. It goes from very bad to almost elite. I think that Doncic will be above average defender, no matter what the detractors say.

I had Doncic, Ayton and JJJ as top 3 prior to the draft, in that order, and I would have still picked them the same. It becomes very unclear after that. I would just do as Divac did - throw a d20 die and try to rationalize the pick later.

I don't understand the Ayton skepticism / mockery. He is behind Doncic, but he hasn't been disappointing. He plays exactly like I expected him to. Even better maybe.

Lol, wtf was Giannis trying to do there, at least cross it over or something lol. Anyway, advanced stats don't suggest that Ayton is super bad at D. I've barely seen the Suns this season, so I can't really comment. Can't be worse than KAT lol.

I think James Harden is an elite athlete. Someone posted his combine stats and I think they were impressive.

Chris Paul used to be a freak athlete. Very fast and dunked a bit. I think he posterized Dwight Howard. He got injured early on while playing for the then New Orleans Hornets.

I would hate to be the person that has to choose between Duncan and AD.

Other than that, I absolutely agree with you.

peja shearing love to luka as always. ;) sure Barea was great too, but the key for the win was how Luka set the game in Q1. first game as Pg and totally dominated celtics.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the decision to let Kyrie guard Luka. I would have sat Luka in the post the whole night and forced the double.

I'm impressed that he actually knows names of the players. Usually when he thinks he is watching an NBA game, what he is actually watching is a cooking gadget infomercial.

 Why don't go further ? Luka won the game during the warmups

Anyone not clear yet why so many people hate Doncic supporters, not him particularly ?

For me 1st quarter is pretty much garbage time in modern basketball with so many possesions and where a 10-0 run can happen in 2 minutes. That's why fans put so much importance on 4th quarter stats.Celtics didnt lose the game in the first quarter they lost it in late 3rd early 4th and Barea was more pivotal for Mavs in this.

ayton has been great, I wasnt a big fan. Doncic and JJJ were my favorite prospects, I honestly probably would have piced JJJ first overall.

it seems Irving doesn't agree how unimportant first Q is. https://youtu.be/pKyDbl6h7cs

when Luka had many great 4th Qs, you was always here to say how he won the game for Mavs? :D

Send your CV to Cuban, Carlisle apparently doesn't know what he's talking about...

But hey, at least you are still posting and shting on Doncic even when he's good. Good effort, I like the fire, the tears of a silver medal. Delicious.

I think they’re both special. Their raw stats are comparable and Ayton actually has the edge when it comes to advanced stats.

Factoring in that Luka’s team is winning games, then he probably gets the nod, but they both look NBA ready.
