Serious question over here. But cant owners maximize a loophole in the system? Say an owner pays 5 superstars the minimum amount to have them play together for trophies. Then pay them $100 million dollars annually when they retire at 35 til they're 50. Retirement years arent covered by the NBA.

Would you be totally shocked if Cuban owned say a gentleman's club (ie, brothel) and offered his top players unlimited free use of the amenities to his top players?

This is the reality we live in.

Okay. So you're a crazy person. Got it.

Lol open your eyes guys. Dickerson got a corvette given to him by a college. You don't think shady pro teams give out perks like this? Did you ever read about Magic Johnson and all the sex parties he used to have?

Ballmer is 7 times richer than Cuban... so what do his sex parties look like??

I said "shady". I haven't personally seen any evidence of him being like that. Cuban has shown himself to be very shady.

That said, if Ballmer is having sex parties, I'm sure they are absolutely **** HARDCORE!!

Sooo uhhh... is Bin Lade still alive too? I need to get my conspiracy hats.

Seriously, are you still a twelve-year old? As a magic fan, I hate Fagan for what he did with Dwight and our team but you are making some crazy-a$$ BS right there.

Bin Lade is good, he owns a deli right across the street where I live.

It would be technical violation, but more importantly, none of the owners could afford to pay $7.5 billion to 5 players after they retire. Would ever trust an owner to honor such an insane promise?

You need proof to lay these claims or you're just another Broussard.
Everyone can assume and assume but it doesn't make them smart.

I don't need proof. I am on a **** Internet forum. Hahah. It is all just common sense and an understanding of human nature. And what I'm saying is that if you think these kinds of things aren't going on, then you are being ignorant (not specifically you, but generalized you).

I think if DJ had called Cuban the day or so after, and told him honestly that he was now having second doubts about leaving the team he has played his whole career for, it all plays out a little better. I think Cuban takes that in stride, and the Mavs can try to at least create alternative game plan, or just call it all off, or whatever.

Everyone is calling DJ all sorts of things, but it's the way it went down that made it bad, not the fact that he changed his mind on a non-binding verbal agreement. IIRC more than 1 college coach has changed his mind the morning after making a major move- usually to stay with his original school.

Lebron has 'The Decision', now DJ will be know for ''The Indecision 2015'.

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA
Several GM's solution to changing moratorium: Push back start of free agency until now, once the salary cap numbers are calculated.

I say don't do anything and let players and teams just start backing out of deals left and right...oh that won't happen because everyone else has morals.

Seriously, just leave it as it is. Let everybody feel the pain at some point.

Clippers are even more unlikeable than the Cavs. Plus living in LA, their fans suck. Know nothing about the game outside of OMG Lob City!!!

Funnily enough, Ballmer is 59 and Cuban about to turn 57... really only a couple years apart so they probably both need the Viagra....

Even though Cuban tries so hard to be cool and live a hip lifestyle, dude is creepin on 60... old as death to someone (myself) in their early 20's

Everybody has a right to change their mind, yes. But do so BEFORE you give a verbal commitment (and allow it to spread widely in the media).

His 'change of mind' effects multiple organisations and individual players (Free Agency plays out waaaayyyy differently).

As for his agent 'forcing' a 7 foot, 250 pound multi millionaire athlete to sign for the Mavs? LOL. He met with both teams, if he wanted another meeting with the Clippers (or the Raptors, Wizards or Lakers, or flipping Istanbul) he could have made that happen with a click of his fingers, his agent works for him and if he didn't like it - screw him.

Jordan, the Clippers and DJs agent have shown themselves to be utterly classless. I get that the Clippers were in a tight situation, but we all know once a player has verbally committed, that should be hands off time.

The League also comes out of this badly, this just hammers home the need for these numbers to be aligned and to be announced at the same point Free Agents can talk - sign contracts immediately, take away the grey area that allows teams, players, businessmen and fans the league over to be entirely screwed over by one classless decision.
