Right. The 'Hollinger's Daily Blowjob' section is gonna be disturbing. I'll never click it, but his PER garbage will no doubt be all over the message boards and blogs.

Why does Hollinger get so much hate?

I don't mind Hollinger. I actually like him more than the other ESPN scrubs.

That's a naive opinion. They made that site because they see the page hits their NBA Homepage gets, and I guarantee you I'm not the only one blowing up the Heat page. Every article even remotely connected to Miami gets a flood of comments and views. You'd have to be in denial to think this isn't every bit a financial maneuver.

There are more than enough willing eyeballs that ESPN knew this idea would make them money. You may not be one of them, but you probably will look at it at least a few times per month. Afterall, you're interested enough to post in a thread about the website. ESPN is already halfway to their goal based on the buzz this announcement has created. PEACE.

For ESPN to have their own beat writers for one team is crazy. Do they have anyone that covers the Yankees exclusively? How about the Saints or the Lakers? No, they do not. But they not only have one covering the Heat, they have four. Four national writers exclusively for one team, really? At least CNNSI and Yahoo stay somewhat neutral on all teams.

But we have all those sports too. I think it's funny to us down here because this is still the Dolphins' and Canes' town. Even after Miami Thrice, it's still gonna be a football-first town. It'll take a lot of rings to change that. It's just kinda sad that the Dolphins, Marlins, Panthers, Canes and the other college and high-school sports programs won't get the same ESPN treatment that a team cobbled together two months ago will.

I guess if it keeps a Dolphins blowout off the front page, then it's fine. PEACE.

Sadly, you are correct. That is why I refuse to watch or read about that team out of principle.

Heat fans will hate it when ESPN does their usual thing of over blowing a story that signals the destruction of the locker room. I'm guessing something like, "Lebron says he didn't take many shots last night, how unhappy is King James about his role on the team?"

What's the Heat Index going to be after they lose a pre-season game? Will the world end?

The Heat aren't going to win the championship this year. Who cares?

I find a lot of his logic damn near offensive. He constantly relies on stats and disregards chemistry, injuries, matchups, or anything intangible to make some really goofy conclusions.

His PER stuff can be useful within parameters. But more and more people (mainly bloggers) are using it as a primary measuring stick. It's annoying.

So while I don't 'hate' him, I think a lot of his stuff is short-sighted and superficial, and unfortunately you can't escape it if you check ESPN's NBA section on a regular basis. I like ESPN. But his nonsense has way too much influence on their material.

5, 17, 23, 38, 39.

If you don't win with those it's because you played the wrong lottery.

How does me posting in a thread about it lead me to visiting the site though? The only "research" I've done into this is to see what sort of abuse that tub of lard Brian Windhorst is getting on twitter (quite a lot) for his involvement.

You're right because the Lakers* did.

*Celtics if you factor in referee error.

He's saying the Lakers won in 2010, but if you factor in referee error it would be the Celtics.
