Impressive that these games are close:

France/Ukraine
Serbia/Latvia
Italy/Greece (italy up to 2)

Also surprised that Bosnia and Herzegovina beat Macedonia. Not surprised that Finland beat Russia though

Grande Italia, what a game.. we are amazing, without Bargnani Gallo and Hackett... Belinelli with true leadership carrying the team in the 4th Kobe style... Gentile rising.. Nba is gonna take notice.. Very happy!

Thibodeau's coaching made Belinelli a much better player. He is amazing in this Eurobasket.

He's not really taking good shots or anything. Everything just seems to be going in.

I agree that it didn't improve his shot selection but it made him a much more passionate player. He is putting his soul in his game now.

He isn't frenetic like in the past, plays under control and is more aware of his teammates. I wouldn't say it's all because of any single coach. The guy has greatly matured.

Congrats to the Italians for their win, even if it hearts as a Greek that loss its nice to see them again to be competitive. We really missed VSpan, and i am sure that if we meet again on the later stages the result will be deferent.

As an italian I have to say.. this version of Italy is clearly inferior to Greece.. there is physical inferiority in every single role.. that's why u dominated on rebounds.. It's incredible we won against a better team..

btw on Belinelli he improved dramatically his mentality.. today he played like Kobe in the 4th.. took the team on his shoulders penetrating, making difficult shots, drawing fouls. Impressive

Great game by two great teams, but Italy had more heart.

Great show, anyone who saw the game was fun.

It 's just the first round of the European, but we go forward

Italy without Bargnani, in official matches, is 12-0 (But today Italy missed also Gallinari, Hackett and Diener)

They beat Ukraine by 6. The game was very close but France managed to obtain a small lead in the final 5 minutes.

Ukraine is playing quite good.

Was the moment of silence before the Slovenia-Croatia because of the tragic accident of the Győri ETO team, or did another, more relevant basketball related death happen? Missed the beginning.

Yeah, that was the reason. All of today's game had this moment of silence.

Gentile is the best young player at this EC... he's unstoppable 1vs1 and he's shooting high percentages too... :o

He's our X-factor off the bench... the injury of Gallo freed him up at SF position and he's making great improvements...
