Steve Mills: $17 million for Tim Hardaway Jr ! Top that!
Garpax: Hold our beer.

I wouldnt go that far!

THJr: 18 PPG on $17.5/3 years left
LaVine (coming off ACL): 17 PPG on $20/4 years left
Gordon: 18 PPG on $21/4 years left

...But yeah, who's counting. :P

--Mags

I didn't realize all scoring was equal.

THJ year 5 - 25 years old. | 17.5 ppg/42%/32% from 3 on a 7 attempts.

Lavine year 3 - 22 years old. | 19ppg/46%/39% from 3 on 7 attempts

And Gordon is a different position so..

THJ isn't terrible but Id hardly say he looks better than Lavine.

There’s a lot of parallels between this offseasons’s Zach Lavine saga and those Thai children trapped in the underwater cave.

So Lavine gets, what, 2/3rds of what wiggins got. And everybody thinks he's overpaid.

That or competition for Jabari Parker. Vlade comes across as an idiot but did he just win this poker hand?

Who would've ever thought the Warriors would get boogie Cousins for 1/4 of the price that Lavine cost. FML :nonono:

Cousins's career as an elite player is over. There's only been one elite guy to have a decent recovery from an Achilles rupture.

Horrible match by CHI. They could have opened up nearly $40m in cap space and taken out the only other dumping ground competition besides ATL. Probably could have turned that space into at least two 1sts.

Now they get to pay Lavine big money. Their 2019 FA situation is also shot...none of the big max guys are coming to play with Lavine.

That's a really poor and classless attempt at humor. Good job. You should be proud.

Not really - they both got rescued.

I see no news report saying as such. As of an hour ago they were writing notes to their families. Maybe I'm overreacting but it seems pretty **** up to me.

If by lowballing him you mean that they offered Lavine more than 17.5 per year (18), then yes, I guess they did "lowball" him.

And we wonder why the Bulls or Kings havent been relevant for 8 years+

Giving 20 mill a season to a *slightly* better than average at best SG is no way to rebuild

Vivek, there is a little guy on the Boston Celtics who says he's worth 12-14 million a year named Marcus Smart.

His stats look pretty decent. (well, the counting stats) When I watch him he seems to be limited mentally. Like if his first option is open, whether to shoot, drive, or pass he looks great. A straight line drive to the rim and he is giving you a sportscenter highlight. But, if he's got to move to a secondary option he struggles a lot.

Reminds me a bit of a JR Smith or CJ Miles. Both useful players in the right role, but not guys I'd want to be taking up a 5th of my salary.

TBH I freaked out at first, but it doesn't seem quite that bad now that I've had a chance to think about it. We all know how well the Bulls (don't) do in free agency, so might as well use that cap space to re-sign someone with the talent and a decent work ethic, rather putting all your eggs in the 2019 free agency basket. Lots of teams will have cap space next year and recent history has shown us that Chicago is not much of a destination for big name free agents.
