They both played horrible. Gasol was pretty bad against embiid last year himself. This game he was 1-8. 3 points.

It’s not like gasol does anything offensively

But embiid just stunk up the place big time. Couldn’t handle double teams.

The problem is Gasol is not the teams #1 option on offense.

It's obvious now that he was angling to get himself to LA the entire time. I don't blame him for it. After all, he had to wait 8 years until he could decide exactly where he wanted to play. Nobody should have a problem with that.

I just think it was distasteful of him painting the Spurs in a negative light, implying they didn't manage or diagnose his injury correctly (they had the diagnosis correct all along), etc....

Adrian Wojnarowski: Not if people make calls on him. Not if an organization is doing their homework and knows all the things he brings with him.

Checking some box scores and if I were the type to make obnoxious trolling gloat threads, like so many do on here, I would be tempted to make the following:

Melo 25/8/2 on 50%FG, 57% 3PT - leads Blazers to victory as top scorer - did people count him out too soon???

Also...

Are the Raptors better without Kawhi?

Gasol did have 9 assists.

Edit: Didn't realize that five other people had already responded to the same post

Did you watch the game? Gasol had 9 assists and held Embiid to 0 points. He had a much better game than Embiid even if he went 1-8.

No. Raptors aren't dominating the spread. If you want to be called world champions, then dominate the spread. Tonight, you're at home and got +1.5. The Heat are doing a better job.

He also had an end of half heave that didn't go. And a heat check jumper that didn't go in. He was honestly better than many of the stats will even say.

Ugly win for the Celtics, but anytime you escape with a win after an opponent torches you for 11 threes...you take it

Haha. I didn’t watch it, maybe I’ll catch the replay. Glad to see him have a good game.

How badly do the Jazz need Gobert? They’re getting killed on the board. Giannis can just do whatever he wants inside. Would have been a good game with Gobert.

Raptors beat the Sixers without Lowry & Ibaka, two of their top 6 players.....they weren't suppose to win this game, let alone dominate.

Gasol is old as dirt and hes not even the best player on the team...I can't believe some ppl on this board legit believe Embiid is as impactful as a prime Shaq.

The difference is the Raptors don't need Gasol to score. He's basically the fifth option on offence.

I’m not the biggest Donovan Mitchell fan in the world, but I believe in every shot he takes. Just one of those shots that always seems likes it’s going in.
